With injuries to James and Gnonto, Rhys Chadwick makes sense. From what I've seen he's the next best prospect after Gray. Better than Chambers who was more advanced last season.

Good 2-0 win at home to Bilbao

No Gray in the squad but two nice finishes from Cresswell and Logan White, a player I'm not familiar with, promoted recently from the 18's and has been playing well there it seems with 6 goal contributions in 6 games.

9 minutes off the bench tonight and he's off the mark for the 21's, looks to be about 5'6

3-0, a lesson in the dangers of passing around at the back, which has been a frustrating part of the lads’ game tonight. A comedy goal, if you’re a Halifax fan.

Says a lot about our youth when we can't summon up interest for over a month...

There used to be a connect between the youth team and the seniors. It was fun back then. Mostly under Bielsa. We had Gelhardt, Greenwood, Cresswell, Drameh, Bate all breaking through. Meslier and Strujik started there. A number of other players were close to the first team.

But under Farke there's been a complete disconnect. Almost like the 21's don't matter. Chambers gets an occasional sniff. As did Harry. But there's really nobody knocking on the door. So it kills the interest a bit.

The gap is too big, First team - "21's - 18's is the order.

At the moment we have the first team then basically the 18's playing for the 21's. We've lost the natural progression until the 18's are 21's good and then can threaten the first team squad

I don't like or agree with it, we've always been a club for homegrown talent. It saved us last time we went down...

I remember watching the U23's as they were back then, at Colchester the night they won the league by winning 2-0.
Pascal was playing that night but his CB partner that night, Diaz, looked the better player. Whatever happened to him?
Leif Davis also played that night and both goals were scored by Ryan Edmondson who looked to have big future but has disappeared without a trace. I know he ended up at Barrow, is he still there?
A can't remember the whole team but I remember Jordan Stevens and Robbie Gotts both played. Stevens in particular looked really good on the night but ended up dropping down to League 2 I think.
Its such a huge step up from U21 to first team football and bigger than ever at Leeds these days.

Just realised the 21's are hardly playing this year .. 7 games so far, two tournaments both cups ..and not looking good we progress in either so maybe 5 games to go

International Cup: 4 - 2 - 2 -0 - 6 pts
Football League Trophy: 3 = 0 - 3 - 0 - 0pts

So Farke is right, the 21's are the feed for the first team... just not in the next couple of years, assuming we keep them. We have a habit of letting them go

I see Charlie Crew has returned from Doncaster, but wasn't given another loan and will drop back to u21 level. Just a waste of a year in a crucial year for his development.
