Very annoying, I break off the cap and then there's a piece sticking out that I now have to remove, so that's 3 pieces of plastic instead of the one which is why it was brought in

I twist the cap roughly when open so that it rips off one of the tags leaving just one on, much easier to drink out of.

The idea is to leave it on so the bottle and cap remain together, recycling companies bemoaned getting bottles back but not the caps. I'm guessing they get recycled (steralized, refilled and resealed) so I kinda get why...
