Re: Manchester City v Leeds United Match Thread
Well well..... I'm glad to see we held them for a minute
Come on its to be expected, its fine.
What is not fine is that our head of recruitment goes under the radar while Farke gets all the flack (not good enough by half but I said in the summer it was infantile recruitment which made Orta look more competent).
Alex Davies..... Its a bloody tough job but what did the board expect? No experience in the role at all before leeds, no global contacts..... But the 49rs went OK let's replace steinnsson with him
.
I'll say something now that's divisive. Neither Ampadu, Tanaka or Gruev are good enough for most prem games. As people they're probably brill but this is the level.... 80% of the time they do a decent job but there's consistent lapses, issues with physicality that prem teams punish.
Gruev didn't go with his runner for the opener.... Rusty maybe but he wasn't great in the champ.... Against City what do we expect....
I genuinely think that we have to build and get promoted a few times buying high potential youth on the relatively cheap side. The gulf in money is too much now to build a prem team on £100 million and not have 100% cast iron recruitment/sell players like Harrison/Bamford/Meslier when clubs offer big money.
