Huge game, make no mistake.
A draw wouldn't be a disaster but we could really do with a win to give us momentum.
A defeat would be a disaster especially if the others pick up points.

Like I was saying a week or two ago - we can't afford to start losing home games given how few points we score away.

i had forgot to state Arronson - Stack. Both players need some sort of rest so neither should be playing for 90 mins
Leeds need to bring in a midfielder who can score goals and a decent number 9 in Jan 2027.

Stach has played two to four fewer games than Bogle, Rodon, Sttuijk, Gudmundsson & Ampadu

Stach can have a rest on Sunday when Tanaka will get another cup start

I'd start Stach v Norwich.... 5th round, play your best team or close to it. Secondly it'd be Longstocking not Tanaka if stach were "rested"

Stach had a rest when he was injured, which might partly explain why he has been so outstanding since he came back.

Ellandback1 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 4:01 pmSunderland walked away from their last match with four fresh injuries, and the prognosis is grim. Romaine Mundle is facing a "difficult" thigh injury that could side-line him until April, while Jocelin Ta Bi’s Premier League debut ended in heartbreak, with a foot injury likely requiring surgery. The hits didn't stop there.

Both Nordi Mukiele and Brian Brobbey were forced off and are expected to miss at least a month with calf and groin issues, respectively. When you add these names to long-term absentees like Reinildo Mandava and the slowly recovering Dennis Cirkin, Le Bris is left with a skeletal squad that will require immense creativity to fill. While Sunderland grapple with injuries, Leeds are dealing with their own brand of drama.
Surely these absentees weakens the Sunderland team.

Sunderland are a much better home side than an away one.

Bit like us actually, even more stark tbf.

A top 6 home side.

But a bottom 4 away one.

Better than us at home, but only very very slightly better than us away (we are 18th they are 17th).

Sunderland injuries v our mostly full strength.

Shall I meet you in the normal place, and we can wander over to the North West corner?
