Never been, however Jill would love it there being a gardener & her love for plants, she spends a fortune on our garden.
Busy today surprisingly, probably as it's the first really nice day of the year and Wisley have gone to summer opening hours today. 240 acres of perfect gardens of all sorts from the stuning long borders, to the pinetum, to the wild gardens and ponds to the woodland gardens, to the river walk, to the massive rock garden, the kitchen gardens, walled gardens, garden rooms, to the formal pools, informal ponds and the glasshouses with tropical and temperate zones... Then there's the educational side, a museum and the art. even the bird hide is worth a visit, it's two stories high.

Jill would love it. You do have RHS Harlow Carr I think up your way (North Yorks) but Wisley is the UK's flagship alongside Kew

Well I suspect you would really appreciate the Bird Watching and Horticulture here in the Arizona desert. It is truly unique! And surprisingly vibrant. Cheers!! 8-)

Faaip, have you ever seen a Hoopoe? One has been spotted in and around our villages by many people on the Shotley peninsula Suffolk. Unfortunately not by me. :(

I've not no, I'm not one of these paperazzi type birdwatchers. I will make an effort to look out for bird if in a specific location, (for instance when we used to stay at Prawle in Devon on the coast path I'd try to see a Cirle Bunting, easy to hear and tough to see and very limited places they can be seen. But I'd never drive even 5 miles at the hope of a Bee Eater or something

Hoopoes are amazing birds though, with that crest and black and white markings... South Downs is usually about as far north as they go. I might be down there in June as it's Night Jar season and it's not far from me with some lovely walks anyway

My fifth Indoor Bowls league match this week.

Five more games & the season should be over in the next couple of weeks, before we head outside for the summer bowls league matcjes on grass in May, with practices starting mid-April.

Watching a great tit build its nest. I've been helping by brushing houndie daily and then putting his fur on the lawn. The little bird has been coming and collecting it and taking it off to its little hole in a tree. Brilliant.

Off to the races today at Ascot , Good Friday races are a free event.
Everything used to closed Good Friday but slowly all establishments are opening.
The law on this day previously was you had to buy a meal to get a drink in a pub.
Now that law has gone too. Hopefully I can back a winner or 6 !

We’ve just finished our summer season on Saturday we finished 5th out of ten.
On Thursday we won our league then the 4 league winners play off for a pennant.
We won the semi final but got beat in the final by 7 shots. But we got promoted to division 2.
It’s 3 rinks of 4 bowlers we won 1 rink by 4 another rink by 5 but the 3rd rink lost by 16.
They dropped 6 shots on the 2nd last end.

We play 3 rinks of 3 bowlers in two of our outdoor leagues.

Congratulations on your team's promotion, Shaun.
