Missed the whole game whilst traveling - landed just in time to see we were at penalties, when I saw Piroe missed the first I feared the worst but delighted the boys finished it off in the end. We can beat Chelsea

I hate players I like taking pens, heart in mouth for both Willy and Pascal ..tbf I hate pens, think it affects those that miss pressure ones for a while. I'll watch the game Friday obviously, massive game for us and it'll be interesting to see how Bowen plays

Feels like he's been poor for a while.

He wasn't that bad.

Piroe's penalty was really poor, was very disappointed

But he's definitely our best finisher.

His confidence is shot to pieces unfortunately.

We all know when confident and match sharp how good he can be.

You can see he's not now.

He did try to get us going forward when he came on, 2 passes into the final 3rd (doesn sound much but Aaronson for example only managed 1).

But even for those who don't rate him mist be clear how low his confidence is.

Which is bad news for us if we ever need him.

However it's a different pressure taking a penalty in a shoot out and unfortunately he made a right old hash of it which was a surprise as he's supposedly our best spot kick taker.

Whereas the much derided DCL by comparison showed excellent temperament by slotting home two penalties after missing his previous one.

I thought he was positive when he came on, he tried to create, played forward, tried a few through balls (something different).

Saying DCL is much derided compared to Piroe is a stretch

DCL took both his pens well which hopefully will do his confidence good.

He does have the comfort of knowing it doesn't matter though, his playing time is guaranteed.

He's also played regularly and is match sharp.

So regardless of bad form he will play.

Don't think can discount the pressure of the pens as you say, also the pressure of knowing your chances to impress are incredibly limited.

If Piroe scores his penalty Farke would get blamed for under utilising him, but since he missed the reason must be that Farke has ruined his confidence.

You are happy making excuses for him whenever he comes on and things do not work out. All this rust excuses etc.

He is a pro - he has to make the most of his chances. There are plenty of players in the game who take their chances when they get cameos and force their way into the starting line up. He hasn’t done it this season and that is not all down to Farke. He won’t be getting a cameo appearance on the super sub advert.

He may just not have the game to play at this level. He will very likely be off in the summer. Hope it works out for him at his next club.

This is why I find this forum infuriating at times. People slating players for no real reason other than because their favourites are not picked. The level of pettiness is astounding and yet the posters claim to have played the game.

You get chinned with that attitude in team sports.

Bigging up Piroe's lethargic display & dissing our captain who worked tirelessly is not a true reflection of the game.

Lose Ampadu & he would be a massive loss in our final run-in of games.

I don't think Piroe's miss would've had anything to do with a lack of game time or being low on confidence, if indeed he ever was. Rather it being just one of those things. Players miss penalties, it happens. Will it affect his career or his goalscoring ability going forward? No. Good strikers don't live or die by a penalty miss. It will already be forgotten.

I was delighted when I saw Pascal walking up. For me he was the best on the field by a country mile. No wonder other clubs are looking at him.
