Re: Manchester United pre match chat
We were probably buggered anyway given how bad we are away and how good they've been at home.
Just Hope we are competing and don't get smashed
Be more worried if we are still missing players vs Wolves

Cup run is great, no doubt, great day out at Wembley for the fans.Cjay wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2026 3:18 pm Not great news.
But Cup run is still great
We could have made more changes, didn't, is this risk you take.
Injuries have been very kind to us this season, we've played plenty of teams missing 7,8,9 players.
Now maybe it's our turn.
Tiz what the squads for.
James and Okafor could get injured picking their noses tbf.
Rodon has seemed injured in dozens of games but always seemed to bounce back, unfortunately he hasn't.
It’s come at a cost though, a big one.

The glory of 1 day at Wembley could well end up costing us our chance to stay in the Premiership, not worth it in my book.
Fingers crossed it doesnt come to that but we need all hands to the pump going into the last few games of the season, we might well not be in a position to do that

The squad will now have to take the strain.
Someone is going to be proved right and someone wrong.
Are these squad players good enough?
Or will they turn out to be better than the first teamers after all

We've been lucky with injuries so far but sods law it comes at the worst time with a number of games that we need to win and should do at full strength. Bourenow should cover for rodon and gnonto for okafor but we will badly miss stach who has been immense. Fingers crossed we don't get anymore injuries or all the hard work so far this season could unravel over the next few weeks. Farke will earn his money keeping the ship steady.

Justin for Rodon? Gnonto is an improvement anyway on Okafor but expect Nmecha and DCL up frontfoxy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2026 5:01 pm We've been lucky with injuries so far but sods law it comes at the worst time with a number of games that we need to win and should do at full strength. What happened to all the Longstaff is a great signing, top prem player, posters? Bench might be an issue though, might even see a U21 on the bench and Buonanotte

Hopefully gudmonson will be fit so agree Justin at CB. Longstaff might be ok at breaking up attacks but isn't a patch on stach in driving the team forward and contributing goals. We are sadly lacking cover in that department and having to rely on longstaff as our best cover shows some of the gaps in squad strength. I'm not expecting much against scum but really don't want a thrashing.

So we are defenitely without Stach, Rodon & James, and Gudmundsson, Bijol & Okafor possibly unavailable.
How unlucky is that with our threadbare squad?

I'm starting to wonder if they are made from paper mache. One thing you could say about Harrison - he was hardly ever injured.Cjay wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2026 3:18 pm Not great news.

Real pity if we cant play Gabi and Bijol, but frankly we need them fit for our home games, so I'd not risk them if theyre not fully fit. (especially Gabi).
Playing Bornaauw, Longstaff to me are decent options. We still put a good side out there.
It may disrupt manure a bit as well as we're forced to change shape.
I know this all sounds like seeing it through rose coloured glasses but we go, we go hard and we come away with a point. That would be mission accomplished for me.

I would play Justin in place of Gabi in your like up and Bornaauw where you have Justin.foxy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2026 5:13 pm Hopefully gudmonson will be fit so agree Justin at CB. Gabi has picked up a good few knocks recently. We shouldnt play him in this one if he's still nursing something.
Bornaauw can disrupt and hassle attacks very well. Justin's pace out wide would be an advantage.

Stop saying it's a threadbare squad, you were very happy with the summers work and we have the same amount of players everyone else does...
We can still field a good side and we still have options...

I'd certainly not be taking risks with players who aren't fully fit.
Realistically we will struggle even with a fully fit squad, we are a poor away side and Manure are very strong at home.
On the other hand I see no reason we can't be competitive and give them a game.
We have options who may not be DF's first choice but who have proven good when given a chance.
Bornauw has been one of our better players every time he starts
Gnonto
Tanaka
Even Buonanotte has clear qualities.
I'm hopeful but definitely don't want risks taken we've been banking in beating Wolves at home for months

How many injured players do we think Farke will have on the bench. I'm going three

It was an admission really that the summer recruitment wasn't that great....The Subhuman wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2026 7:14 pm Stop saying it's a threadbare squad, you were very happy with the summers work and we have the same amount of players everyone else does...

I just hope he doesn't play Aaronson instead of Stach.
