You must have got more pocket money than me as a kid SH ………albums (other than TOTP ones) were out of my reach, until I was at least 12/13 yrs old.

I did find in an old album carry box, the ones with the fold back lid/cover these. Other than the ND, Focus and Shirl….I don’t think I’ve ever played any of them, so not sure where I picked them up

Love the tactile nature of vinyl. Played on a good turntable its great. Playing records is more of an event in my book. Miss it

Anybody else still collecting vinyl/Cds?

I'm not collecting more but I still have all my original albums and singles. Motown, Soul, Love Songs so probably completely different to many but I won't part with them. I still like music and am constantly singing away to it but it doesn't matter who music is by if I like the sound of it and/or words.

Perhaps a thread on the most ‘embarrassing’ albums in your collection would be entertaining………I certainly have a few and when I come across them now, I think why on earth did you ever buy that.

Saved up and wanted cash for pressies. Music was about all I spent money on. I got 25/30 quid a week that summer at Air Hanson, plus rides in a helicopter. Did about 4 weeks painting the outside of an aircraft hanger at Brooklands with a couple of schoolmates.

Indeed. My favorite Dylan album. Yeah I wanted to somehow share a photo where you could see them easier but a lot are so old they are hard to distinguish from the spine. Some classics in there, to be sure. A lot of the usual suspects- Zeppelin, Beatles, Allman Brothers, The Who, Santana, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Bowie, Stevie Wonder, etc. And then a fair bit of Hip Hop- Tribe Called Quest, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Mac Miller to name a few.

A lot of the older ones from my Dad aren't in the best of shape but have sentimental value/fun stories behind them. The copy of Grateful Dead- American Beauty was given to him by his older brother in 1970 when he returned from Vietnam.
Perhaps in the music thread we could post "What are you spinning today" sort of like the pint of the day one. Would be a fun way for people to reveal their collections!

I have multiple albums by those artists, the whole of their studio albums from some.

I love YouTube for all the live versions of track’s & concerts, I won’t pay for the ad free version so it’s bl**dy annoying when someone sticks an add in the middle of a longer track Those people should be hunted down & beaten with a shitty stick.

YouTube is great source for music, podcasts & sport, Cussie.

Very rarely play 7” singles these days, as it’s too much faff to keep getting up to change. However, most kids in the 70’s must have started their record buying life’s with the ‘single’………in my case in the early 70’s by the likes of Slade, T.Rex,Sweet etc. However, I think my single buying zenith was probably 1978/79

That Geoff Love album is in practically every charity shop in the UK.

Yeah, The Daily Doug is brilliant Faaip, from a musical composition perspective.

I also like the opera singer who does The Charismatic Voice, for her vocal analysis, which is really educative and she's fit of course.

Elizabeth Zharoff, one of you tubes top earners. With her I have to like the song, I've no interest in listening to her wax lyrical about Hanson
