Chelsea (last 5):
0–1, 0–3, 0–1, 0–3, 0–1
…five straight losses, 0 goals scored.

Re: Leeds United v Chelsea - FA Cup Semi Final Match Thread
If you care to read again what I wrote ( rather than Weasel's take on it ) I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of those people who accuse those born and bred in Leeds - and who have supported the club since childhood - of " not getting behind the club " or " being negative " when in fact all their target wants is for the club to do well, and therefore naturally does what football fans have done for the last 70 odd years, which is to debate managers, players, tactics starting line ups etc.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 12:36 am I shouldn't laugh at this....but I'm going to.Because this idea that if you are not from Leeds somehow you are a lessor supporter is absolute SHITE!!!
I've been a supporter of DC United in MLS for 30 years. But I've never lived there. I lived in Michigan until I retired. And Michigan is about 700 miles from the Nation's Capitol. But the local DC Supporters welcomed me with open arms. In fact, when I would travel to DC for matches, I was always invited to stay in the home of one of the Supporters Group Leaders. THAT'S how you treat out of town supporters. You don't tell them they are lessor because they don't live there.
It used to be debate in pubs, now it's more online. Except in a pub you couldn't try to railroad others into following a party line which you wanted to impose. It's easier to be the control freakish bully when it's all done online, and you don't risk a black eye....
For those who can't work out where the hypocrisy part comes in - it's directed purely at the people who make accusations of " negativity " " not getting behind the club " etc, and yet who probably for whatever reason decided not to put their full support behind whichever club they grew up close to. You're not one of those who bangs on in a sanctimonious way about loyalty etc, so clearly my comments don't apply to you or most others - only the rank hypocrites. Clearly it was beyond Weasel's intellect to understand the point I was making.
I did also say that I like the fact that the club has such a big international following. Shame you didn't bother to read that bit.
In terms of this cup tie - it brings back memories of FA cup day in the early 70s when lots of the neighbours would come round to our house to watch the game. The FA Cup was one of the footballing highlights of the year back then.

All that started by the way about a simple debate about whether Perri or Darlow should start in goal. Apparently even debating the subject is a crime according to our resident cyber police.

There's quite a few of those that are born and bred in Leeds that chose to support Man Utd.
That's a fact because some of the people I grew up with have chosen that route so doesn't matter where you're from as it's just a personal decision. Also being a home grown fan as it were doesn't negate you from any observations of perceived negativity, or that you might not be fully supportive of the club in my opinion and anyway that's just debate and why we're all here in the first place.
For what it's worth there's plenty of times I've been highly critical of the club, manager, individual players and also fellow supporters because that's all part of being a fan and we're all entitled to our point of view.

Jammy ; as I've just mentioned, my point was that it's rich for people to preach about club loyalty etc to anybody born in the city of their adopted club when they chose to support a club other than the one related to where they grew up.Jammy 07 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 10:02 am There's quite a few of those that are born and bred in Leeds that chose to support Man Utd.

In the 80s as well as going to most home games at ER when the club was in the second division, in terms of the 1st division I also wanted Man U and Spurs to do well, as my favourite players at the time were Robson and Hoddle.

That’s exactly why I joined this forum, when I moved away from Leeds I took the pub option away from myself.
Chaps is right - when you say something online, the way you say it is open to individual interpretation, so saying something contentious (or stupid) can quickly get out of hand. Or misinterpreted.
If he’d said outright “Leeds born” has the advantage of opinion we’d have had a discussion about how wrong I felt he was. It would have been face to face.
He might have explained how that wasn’t what he said. He might have convinced me, he might not.
But I wouldn’t have formed a posse to back me up. To me that looks like it’s verging on bullying. But that’s just me. Look to yourselves as individuals and see how you feel it looks to you.

Well here we are, hopefully we can keep the feel good factor going.
I dunno about others but the fact that SH lost yesterday takes a wee bit of pressure of us.
Big game for both teams and a lot of inexperience too.
Anything could happen.

The glorious route on Chelsea to the semi final they faced no Premier League opposition: three Championship teams and the worst side in League One.
chelsea are fierce opposition who just happened to get beat in their last 5 games and didn't even score a goal.
They are there for the taking... once again.

Finding it difficult to predict a result for this game, as we don't don't know how the Chelsea "team" will do for the new manager.

Hadn't realised the Chelsea caretaker manager is basically their version of Skoobs (pre Lincoln obviously)
Non league coach, youth coach, now senior coach with 2 whole games at senior level (hasn't won one).
Nothing to fear here.
How on earth is he meant to earn the trust of the overpaid, overhyped, crybabies in that Chelsea dressing room?

Re: Leeds United v Chelsea - FA Cup Semi Final Match Thread
If the Chelsea players can’t lift themselves for an FA Cup semi final then they really need to rethink their career choices. But today would be a really good chance to stick 2 fingers up to the owners and let us walk all over them. I reckon every Leeds fan would really appreciate the gesture.Cjay wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 11:05 am Hadn't realised the Chelsea caretaker manager is basically their version of Skoobs (pre Lincoln obviously)
