Knowing our luck they’ll rest players for the cup final

You can be brave all you like but if you dont have the ball or just keep running into traffic it is irrelevant.

That for me is about a gap in quality in the squads.

DCL made some great runs but Bogle found Cucclurella every time.

Only Guds could say he had a great game today.

Saying they lacked bravery is just an easy accusations to make. Impossible to disprove but easy to hide behind.

Imo.
Fair enough

Each to their own.

I just think we have performances like this quite a lot (away from home especially).

All very slow, cautious and lacking intensity.

We did lose a lot of duels but it wouldn't have made much difference if we hadn't we were so deep.

Also I don't think Ally McCoist is even at games.

He's just in a box in Glasgow.

Only way to explain his motm choices

Neto was motm imo

That's why we need more winners in the team.

We need more quality and big game players. Tanaka let the occasion effect his game as did a few others. But the experience is important going forwards.

Here’s a new one to add to the wall of shame, Leeds become the first club side to lose 4 games at Wembley without scoring a goal.

Dark arts spoiling football. I wouldn't be proud of my club if we adopted those tactics. Chelsea are a horrible club.

Cjay wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 4:16 pm It's a reasonable concern DDB.

We've been very poor last 2 games.

Where was the bravery and intensity from the Manure game?
Wouldn't question the bravery. Chelsea have beetter players, more comfortable on the ball ,better technique etc. If they play to their best anbd we paly to ours then Chelsea win.

Cup finals and big games are different. As a player, albeit at a far lowel level, I remember my first cup final and it definitely felt different, the occasion can get to you. We played a team we'd comfortably done the double over yet werr 1-0 down at half time. It was just a case of me telling the players that we simply had to play how we had all season, didn't need to do anything deifferent but trust in ourselves. We won comfortably. Cup final a year later and I made sure our pre-match routine was as similar as it could be to a normal match and we were far more relaxed, and won again.

So for me the palyers can hopefully learn from this and play in more big games and get to the point where it is just another game - that is all it would have been to the Chelsea players.

The MU game suited us. We had the early missed chance which gave us the belief we could get at them and then got the first goal. We caught them cold. Whether that is cos of their 24 days (or whatever it was without a game) or they had their tactics/mentality wrong - probably expecting us to come and park the bus. Whatever it was that time it worked - but it doesn't simply work every time. A recetn example was earlier in the season. We went at Chelesa and won 3-1. Next game, v Liverpool, and they were prepared for us and we did nothing till 2-0 down.

It is football. Best laid plans etc.

It's great that we're playing in these kind of games again. If we stay up, we should be looking at the Carabao Cup next season.

Definitely. If we stay up and can then kick on so we are not looking over our shoulder then no reason why we can't target both cups. I think we have shown that we are capable of competing with the top clubs - just sometimes you need that moment of luck, or to take the chance when it comes.
