Our Billy Bremner raffle is now live on the following link with some fantastic prizes. Tickets at £10 each, 5 tickets at £45 or 10 tickets at £80. All profits will go to the Billy Bremner statue in Raploch, Stirling. #leedsunited #scotland

Please note the raffle tickets are only available online. I have just bought individual tickets for three people who paid cash for a ticket but would encourage people to register their own account and buy them personally as for some reason it changed their names to mine.

Honouring Billy Bremner: The Raploch Statue Campaign and How Leeds Fans Can Help

Billy Bremner remains one of the towering figures in Leeds United’s history. A captain, a warrior, and a player whose influence stretched far beyond Elland Road. Now, a major cross community effort is underway to honour his legacy in the place where it all began: Raploch, Stirling.

The Scottish Football Supporters Association (SFSA), alongside Leeds United Supporters Groups, Raploch Community Council, the University of Stirling, Stirling Community Enterprise, Tartan Army Magazine and Stirling Council, is leading a project to erect a statue near Billy’s childhood home on Weir Street. The campaign has gathered huge momentum, and Leeds fans have a unique opportunity to help it take its next big step.

From Raploch to Elland Road

Billy Bremner was born in Stirling in 1942 and grew up at 35a Weir Street. His journey from the Raploch tenements to captaining Don Revie’s great Leeds United side is beautifully chronicled in the University of Stirling’s interactive heritage project Fae Raploch to Elland Road. It highlights his early life, his homesickness after signing for Leeds, and the famous moment when Don Revie travelled north to reassure Billy’s fiancée Vicky that he intended to build a team around him.

This background work with the community forms the cultural heartbeat of the statue campaign. Bremner was fiercely proud of his roots, and the people of the Raploch continue to be equally proud of him.

A Blue Plaque and an Artist Revealed

A significant milestone came with the unveiling of a blue plaque at 35a Weir Street, the very door Billy once stepped out of on his way to becoming a Leeds United and Scotland icon. Eddie Gray performed the unveiling, supported by former Scotland internationals Jimmy Bone and John Blackley, and spoke warmly about the pride Billy carried in his hometown.

At the same time, the campaign group announced that Scottish sculptor Kenny Hunter had been selected to create the statue. The decision was unanimous, a testament to the strength of his vision and the respect he commands in Scottish art. Hunter will craft the memorial that will stand close to the area where Bremner grew up, creating a permanent link between the Raploch community and the Leeds United story.

The Billy Bremner Fundraising Raffle

Bremner’s legacy is woven deeply into the fabric of Leeds United. This statue, erected not by a stadium, but in the streets where he learned his trade, will serve as a lasting bridge between the Raploch community, Scottish football culture, and generations of Leeds fans.

To help fund the creation of the statue, the organisers have launched a raffle packed with impressive prizes donated by fans, artists, authors, and supporters of the project. Every penny of profit goes directly to the statue fund, and any surplus will support community initiatives in Stirling, including work with local schools. Prizes include;

A one week holiday in Cullen, Scotland (25 March–1 April 2026), worth £1,465

The first prize in our online Billy Bremner raffle is due to be drawn shortly so please ensure you buy your tickets to be part of winning some great prizes with all profits going to the Billy Bremner statue in his hometown of Raploch, Stirling.

The draw shall be drawn in intervals with the winner of the holiday to be drawn 8th February and the final prize winner to be drawn by 12pm 23rd May 2026 on the day of our Billy Bremner Gala Dinner due to take place in the Leeds Lounge, Leeds United, Elland Road, Leeds LS11 0ES at 12.30pm. The first prize of the holiday in Cullen at the end of March is drawn in three days on 8th February so the last chance to buy a ticket to be included in that draw is on the 7th.
