I think that the 49ers are very different from Radrizzani and that in terms of the approach and the structures being put in place that they are taking a much more professional and long term view. Radz and Orta got one huge decision right and that was the appointment of Bielsa which was truly inspired and ultimately for all their faults that was probably the single most transformational moment since at least the appointment of Wilkinson and possibly since Don Revie came into the club. Therefore the timing for Radz taking over and eventually making that appointment was close to perfect but apart from that the record was mixed and at times decision making felt a bit seat of the pants/ back of the fag packet style. The 49ers are much more measured and considered and might never have made a Bielsa appointment but they have the capacity and the strategy to take the club on to become an established Premiership club. They will be doing that ultimately on the back of the 'Bielsa Years' but that was the romance of football and the next phase will be much more pragmatic and a bit cold blooded.

Is Pascal a catholic? Since so much is being made of this left footedness and how it is a tequirement for a solid defence.

Where did all the information about the redevelopment go EB?

Anyway I had a bit of a trip down memory lane today and was looking at some photos of the ground from the 70s and 80s. I'm sure everyone remembers the LEEDS UNITED A.F.C. letters on the blue board that was attached to the outside of the west stand. A couple of weeks ago I was watching some guy on YouTube touring 5 or so pubs in Leeds and one he went in was The Hope Inn, York Road. At the back of the car park on a wall are very similar looking letters. I wonder if anyone knows if these are the same ones as were on the west stand or if not knows what happened to them

The images from the 80s look a bit washed out but the letters do seem to have a faint yellowish hue whereas the Hope Inn are clearly white. The letter shapes look near identical.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were the originals, the Hope is a Leeds hotbed, with a lot of very handy tradesmen among its clientele who would know what to do, there’s a great permanent tribute to Chris and Kev there IIRC. The photo is quite poignant for me, the Sue tribute is to the lass married (ceremony at Elland Road of course) to my brother in law’s brother, she sadly died of cancer a few years ago.

Here's where I'd upgrade or add for depth

LWB - We need a second left footed defender that side so an upgrade on Gudds is one solution, or find a quality back up/someone to compete

CB - We need a fifth as it stands. But that doesn't need to be a starter or upgrade on what we have. Question marks on Struijk and Bornauw staying but 5 in squad makes sense

AMF/#10 - We need one if we want to improve, currently Okafor or Aaronson I guess. An upgrade is needed

Striker - Again we only have one and need another if Piroe continues to be overlooked or sold. I'd upgrade DCL and he becomes our bench forward

Winger - We don't use them much but Farke likes them when chasing games, I'm ok with James, assuming he comes back fully fit. Okafor is ok as a winger. Wouldn't mind a better left winger. I love Gnonto but Farke doesn't seem to rate him and that's not changing, doubtful Ramazani returns

I think you nailed it Sub. Unless we lose some starters, we need to be adding a couple of missing pieces that will integrate into the current squad. An AMF/#10 and a Left footed defender that can cover the LCB/LB/LWB positions should be our priority.

Farke only succeeded with Bielsa's team.
Farke failed with Norwich, he's no good.
Farke makes substitutions too late.
The premiership is weeker so Farke succeeds.
Farke is tactically inept sets up defensively.
Farke has brought in the wrong players.
Farke will be sacked, 49ers want him gone.
Farke has greasy hair and oily skin.
Farke loves ploddyball.
Farke has his favourites.
Farke make the wrong team selection
Farke signed broken biscuit players.
Farke winning the Championship with 100 points was nothing... meeh

These are some of the nails used to seal Farke in his coffin, it is death by 1000 cuts, but which is the odd man out.
