Interestingly all amangers that are pretty good at doing what they do, except maybe Marsch. Similar to Farke they are good at getting promotions and deserve a lot of credit. I didn't rate PH when he was with us. Felt Barnsley were in freefall with him and then we hired him and similarly we were in freefall with him. Maybe if he'd been given the opportunity to build a journeyman team with us he could have succeeded. Maybe him getting sacked here gave him the slap in the face he needed as he has done well since. I do feel his decision to continually wear a top with a red Leeds badge was deliberately antagonistic though.

If Farke demands total obedience with 0 dissenting voices in his dressing room ever and just a yes sir no sir vibe he will struggle at the top level as we progress.
Bigger money players have bigger egos and are not likely to be subservient as much as he is used to.
If all it takes is a player questioning his decisions for him to freeze them out then that could become an issue.
Imo as said before this is something he could have handled very differently.
And in the future he very well may need to.
It's interesting how many players have said stuff along the lines of best changing room, best team spirit etc. Also interesting how players like Gnonto, Bornauw, even Ramazanni have still looked generally happy for the team even though they would have been disappointed not to play.
You can't keep everyone happy no matter how good you are in terms of mana management. You touched on it early when you said Farke refused initially to let him go, maybe Farke hoped he'd show the right attitude, wanted to give him the chance.
Like I have said several times the move has worked out well all round. We got promoted and have defenders that I still rate higher than Cresswell. We got some money in, at a good time, and also have a sell on fee. Cresswell got his move, got games, seems to have proven himself.
Happy days.

I've pretended to support a team that's been crap for most of my life as part of a long term plan

Until I see Charlie play in the Premier League again over a period of time, I rate all our defenders higher than him.

They aren't going to say any different are they.
Probably only find out a players true feelings good or bad afterwards, same as we did with MB and Marsch.
We know some players weren't happy, Tanaka said as much, Gnonto, Bornauw etc have had their agents leaking it to the media as well.
But like Charlie they are professional.
But point still stands, bigger players have bigger egos and they have to be managed differently.

Even Bielsa has struggled with that, isn't easy.
I think it should say unlike Charlie they are professional.
Like I said Tanaka, Gnonto, Bornauw etc went about it the right way. Sure they are disappointed but still put the effort in, supported their teammates and were professional, Yes they may now move on but they do it at the right time, at the end of the season rather than causing disruption. Just seeing Gnontos huge smile when he celebrated with the team after a goal despite him not being on the pitch shows what a great teammate he is, same with Bornauw, first to start the goal celebration. Whereas CC appeared to put himself before the team, self before side - not much of a motto.
And that is the difference. CC in acting that way almost made himself unselectable.
Fergie at MU knew when the time was right to get rid of the egos. Got rid of players even if they were better than their replacements. Fostered a great team spirit, had a fair bit of success too.

You shouldn't believe everything you read on social media, information can be twisted to suit the situation.
As Weasel implied, you only have to watch the goal celebrations & the LUFC training videos to witness the camaraderie & togetherness of our squad.
For those of us who attend games, it's visible to see!

Tanaka said it in an interview
Didn't understand why he wasn't playing and felt others weren't doing better than him but he couldn't get games.
And yes I know those who attend games are all seeing you've told me before

Tanaka has done very little during this season to prove he is a capable Premier League player. That's just my opinion based on what I have seen with my own eyes (not the sky sports directors cut)
Maybe DF has seen even less in training hence the limited minutes.
Don't get me wrong, I would love him to raise his game and be a huge success, but based on this season he hasn't done enough.

What I'm implying about being at the match is you see the reactions of our players & their togetherness in the 20 minutes pre-match build-up, when the subs are limbering up down the touchlines during the game & the celebrations after the game, something SKY TV don't show. The players unite with our fans & the camaraderie is all so noticeable when you are in the stadium.
So does AO`s comments come into the category of throwing Farke under the bus ? When Farke names players that he considered didn`t do their job well enough he was jumped on for throwing them under the bus. Maybe its just a one sided thing when Farke speaks out

My old pal Steve (white riot) who I chat with during & after the games, makes exactly the same comments about Tanaka.
Ao hasn't been sensational, there again he hasn't been too bad, Tanaka's had his good moments scoring four goals. 2 in the (PL) & 2 (FA Cup) goals.
I would say average to good for his debut Premier League season. Tanaka's season rating of 5.6 suggests so, too.
I still would like us to retain Ao, as I reckon he's a decent squad player.
