After getting Boro in playoff contention Rob Edwards made a decision to jump ship and go back to old club Wolves. At the time he was saying that he wanted to rescue Wolves and could not turn down the opportunity. His contract at Boro didn't mean anything and he decided to leave Steve Gibson and a good Boro side that were flying high. 7 months later with Wolves relegated, the board have had a change of heart and Edwards is not the man to lead them back to the Premier League. Has Rob Edwards been treated unfairly? The confidence of the Wolves board has made them think the he just can't cut it in the Premier League but Wolves were already in trouble and their form suggested that relegation was inevitable when he took over. The moral of the story that the grass is not always greener on the other side. There is no loyalty but just plan and simple business...

Edwards will get another job, likely in the championship. He's a very good championship manager and he did a decent job at Wolves. Had they got him in 2 months earlier they might survive. Especially as Wolves sold off a couple of good players iirc

Wolves signed him to get them back up, and then reneged on the deal. Their chairman is in the GFH/Bates/Cellino league of arseholes it seems. Hope he got a great compensation package..

Good for the EFL, makes no difference in the EPL... rich owners won't help now. It's down to player sales, TV money, attendances, marketing and other revenue streams
