At least Hants have put up a bit of a fight, as oppose to the Yorkies who are waving the white flag on what is a decent batting wicket.

3 down for 39 is appalling.

As for England, Root goes early, and then we have an innings littered with four ducks, shocking at this level on our own stomping ground.

Our inconsistency is driving me nuts. We never know from one match to the next which version ("good" or "bad") is going to turn up match by match. Annoying and frustrating. Get a grip Yorkshire!! Brilliant against Surrey, yet we lose to Hampshire, who have not won any other match this season, and get hammered by Leicestershire, who win their first match in Division One since 2003.

Our 20 yr old fast bowler Eddie Jack has turned the game back toward Hants a bit ..Sussex still favourites at 80-3.

Great win for Hants, Eddie Jack came to the party and I think the fast bowling future is in decent hands with him and Baker.. 108-3 to 134 all out as wickets kept falling in batches

Felix Organ also bowled well and he was absoultely over the moon with his wickets, at one point getting almost the the boundary with his celebratory arms waving run

There's a chance of the longest hat trick in history? As Abbott took the last two in two and we now have a two month break before he can bowl his hat trick ball.

Missed the majority of the last 2 days but it sounds like Yorkshire got what they deserved. Seems we have no middle ground and it's either very good or very bad. The worry is the very bad is outweighing the good now. Probably just as well we have a summer break now (that just sounds stupid, the CC has a 2 month summer break). Ah well, back to the drawing board. I don't know what the answer is. Bean, Wharton, Luxton, the odd good knock but nothing consistent, Lyth out of form, bowling very hit and miss and the captaincy remains ify.

Hampshire winning, fine as it was is further worry for Yorkshire who can't pull away. Still it's good for the division and makes for a tense month when it resumes late August. Anyone can beat anyone. Yorkshire next face Hampshire and then Leicestershire again. Yikes.

I think Bess was on a hat-trick between the end of last season and the start of this after he took 2 wickets with balls 5&6 in his last over against Durham in the final game. Do these things even go down as hat-tricks in the record books? Must be rare as hens teeth it happening!

Yes we return as autumn begins to arrive, evenings draw in and the weather becomes unpredictable again.... The good weather is needed for T20 and 50 over cricket.... what a waste of good weather
