Yes, the rich got richer with the new rules. I feel for Hull who can't borrow against future earnings now and will probably have a £10.50 transfer kittyOrange Box wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2026 9:48 pm Citeh apparently offer 130m for Anderson? HTF are we supposed to compete with this? What advantage does this give Forest? Does nobody in authority care about the rules anymore? If I had all my money in football management I think I’d give up and go buy a monster yacht and f**k off somewhere nice and quiet.

Liverpool bid £86m for Diomande. We’re not getting him then.
Spurs knocked back on Tonali at £80m
WTF?

That's a different Diomande to the one we were linked with. He's a winger for RB Leipzig. Come on Red Bull, "transfer" him to Leeds .Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2026 10:34 pm Liverpool bid £86m for Diomande. We’re not getting him then.

I hope we don't reach the stage where we're paying £100m+ for a decent, not world class, midfielder. If we ever do spend that kind of money, it should be on a Raphinha type player.

LUFC Owners would get a nosebleed if they have to stump up anything beyond £40m so you can rest at ease

25m for Shea Charles.
49ers seem serious about getting Brandt from Dortmund, but we're still outsiders. Would be a major coup if we got him.
Enquiry made with Derby re. their Swedish goalkeeper. He was decent last night against Japan.

It wouldnt be a good idea anyway. We have a very cohesive, hard working and aligned squad. Some superstar coming in just risks upsetting that.PhoenixUnited wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 11:31 am LUFC Owners would get a nosebleed if they have to stump up anything beyond £40m so you can rest at ease![]()
We need to recruit based on the culture at this point.

Re: Summer transfer gossip and squad discussion
We still have to remember we are a club that cant go out and buy big name stars and offer them mega wages. There is probably still too much risk for big name players to come to us just in case we have the second season wobble and struggle to stay up. If we stay up then things would/could change in as far as the type of players we can attract, and give them more security in that we wont be a team that struggles to stay up but a team that can compete well in the Premiership.
When you see good quality players linked with the club and they don't end up with us it can be disappointing, but for now we have to get used to that. We are heading in the right direction regarding upgrading the squad each season, if we continue to get that right like we did last season then all is good.
I know there will be a few fans who will say of course we could/should have got better, but lets be thankful for the way we improved our squad last season, and the outcome that achieved. It could have gone badly wrong, but didn't.

Re: Summer transfer gossip and squad discussion
Itk lot seem to think after Shea Charles the next through the door will be either James Trafford or Julian Brandt (neither of whom I'm tempting fate with by making a thread yet).
Both have a lot of competition for them from teams with more money, European football, bigger name clubs, managers etc.

Left footed centre back. Harry Souttar, 6 ft 6. I know I’m biased but he has not put a foot wrong at the WC.

A better manager than Farke, of course that would be a consideration for you.. sack him now, he has always been a burden, and the club will get nowhere with him in chargeCjay wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2026 1:10 pm Itk lot seem to think after Shea Charles the next through the door will be either James Trafford or Julian Brandt (neither of whom I'm tempting fate with by making a thread yet).

In your haste to do your super hero sarky act you failed to actually read . . . . . . . .
I said "bigger name clubs, managers, etc".
Not better, bigger.

I get you now, by bigger you mean someone like Big Fat Sam. Or why not bring back Steve Evens he is bigger than Farke.

I wonder if we're still interested in Romano Schmid. Only one year left on his contract, could probably get him for £10m, which would be a bargain.
