Best of luck to him in Ajax.
Ambitious is not a word that comes to mind.
Maybe we are better off in that case.
Hope the recruitment team saw it coming and have Plan B, C and D.

Were Ajax ever mentioned? Just shows that all the rumours we latch onto are bull5h1t. Done with the rumour mill now. Only ever ends in disappointment...

We were the only 2 who had apparently offered him a deal at the time.
Was felt he preferred us but would come down to whose project he was more convinced by.
Them clearly.

Didn't think Brandt was ever interested in coming to ER... he comes over himself if he had the slightest interest. Close shave and we move on. Charles please.

Ajax are currently competing in the qualifying rounds for the CONFERENCE LEAGUE.
But hey, if they make it to the Group Stage, Brandt might get European football.

Re: Julian Brandt - Signed for Ajax
Brandt took the easy route to the end of his career in my view. He chose a league where he could coast through most matches and still play European football. He clearly didn't want the challenge of the Premier League. Or the money that comes with it. Hell, he could've gone to MLS, a much better league overall than the Eredivisie, and still make BIG MONEY on a long term contract. And he could have tested himself in a different style of football, and competed for Continental glory. This is a weak move...

Re: Julian Brandt - Signed for Ajax
Bollocks! Ajax have not been a big name club since the 70's and they had a mini-revival in the 90's for a couple of seasons! They may dominate the Eredivisie/KNVB but they've done naff all in Europe for 30 years! Low-mid Premiership level at best man...

In four years time, with his legs shot to hell and still a year left on his contract, and drawing £100k a week wages for sitting in the Forshaw Suite, who amongst us would still be happy?
A bullet dodged, in my opinion. Let’s get somebody young and hungry.
