The silence is deafening though right? We have heard nothing from Trafford's entourage...
So far the noises suggest that we have agree terms with City and we have agreed terms with him. Whether that is true or not, we don't really know. If it is true then it is also possible the contract has been signed just not announced yet, which for me would make a lot of sense given he would be our record signing and the club wouldn't just want to put out a statement saying we hvae signed him.
Frustrating though but definitely different vibes to Brandt as we know Brandt was actively pursuing other options.

But what is the point in shifting out at least 6 players, and then leaving the squad half complete, and having to rely on kids to fill the bench seat.... Surely it's better to have players who have played in the prem (albeit not good enough for the 1st team) than no one....
Don't be so quick to shift the players who don't match up to your expectations before better replacements are here or lined up..
I don't understand this logic, we are we so against promoting from our academy exactly? Most of our best players were from the academy, rather than expensive signings. If they're good enough, give them a chance, though Farke seems very much against it.

If they were good enough they would be in the senior squad and used. Simple fact is we cant risk playing young inexperienced kids in the Premiership and HOPE they do well. I reckon it will be at least one more season before we see any of the academy players become a regular in the senior squad, unless we have a very good season and have the luxury of being safe, early doors. Its a lot to ask from them to come in and hit the ground running when we have to fight and scrap our way for another season in the Premiership.
It would be great to see some of them involved and that also then gives more hope to others in the academy, as they can see if they do well they will get a chance.
Frustrating as it is, we have to accept what Farke and his backroom staff are doing now and hope we continue to improve and secure are place in the league.
Not great tape on him, leggy, slightly akward, centre mid. Reminds me of Carlton Palmer. Not really a need either with Stach and Longstaff at the club of that type ...

This is pish: there's no way we are interested in him...
Did anyone else catch the link to Yunus Musah? The American International midfielder was on loan to Atalanta last season from AC Milan. After being a starting eleven player for USA in the 2002 World Cup, he was not selected this time. His play has seemingly fallen off a cliff! But he is only 23 years old, so I guess in the right situation he could rejuvenate his career. The article claims that Farke is interested. But I find that very hard to believe.
For the first time, I'm starting to get a bit nervous about this transfer window. Mainly a result of the start of the season coming around fast and our remaining friendlies running out without any signs of anyone new in the changing room.
Trafford surely is signing but no movement or news for a while
Brandt - went to Ajax
Charles - probably off to Fulham
Espi - maybe was only an interest and nothing more but was easily attainable in terms of price but we let Real Madrid activate his release clause.
Definitely a lot of the optimism I had has drained. Just hoping there's a bunch of targets we're not aware of and they pull something out of the bag like DCL was.

Ajax: best ever Dutch team and are in Europe! Easy pay day for the last 3-4 years of his career. They have been tapping him up since May. He was always going there.
Charles: never wanted to come here! Plus moving to london is a lot more attractive than Leeds. We cannot afford an incomplete footballer at this early stage of our Premiership tenure.
Espi: us or Real Madrid? Give your heed a wobble...

I’d like Trafford confirmed and an outfield player by Saturday or I’ll start getting a bit concerned (not that I don’t trust the club, it’s outside influences that concern me)

I am wondering if Saturday is the unveiling day in front of the ER crowd.. If that doesn't happen and no one moves Sunday then we should be getting a bit concerned. There's no GOOD reason for this delay
I don't think a second player is imminent, it's been years since we've had an out of the blue non FA signing. They're much easier to work on and keep quiet

I'm relaxed with this window, although will be much more relaxed once JT signs.
For me this summer our biggest needs were a keeper and a creative player (10). Once Struyjk departed then a centre back became a priority too. So as soon as JT signs we have secured our biggest needs and probably, quite rightly, the club is securing the most important needs before adding any extra touches. If we finish the summer with just Wilson, Tarik and JT signing I will be delighted. If we then add a bit more then it is the decorations on the cakes (I don't like cherries).
Quality rather than quantity was needed this summer. We edged more towards quantity last summer, which was fair enough, and some signings were better than others but it has given us the base to not need to sign 8 players but to actually improve the starting ine-up.
