Don't get me wrong, I rate Piroe and he has done his job for us in his time at the club, but we need to move on.
Who did Farke want as his striker, John?

I reckon Farke rated Piroe in the championship.

However, Farke watches Piroe every day in training & has witnessed his lack of pace & physicality that is generally required to succeed the Premier League.

It is, but the little buggers were everywhere.

Going to the loo at half time was worse than a proper game, with a sell out crowd.

Piroe did a great job in our promotion season, as I mentioned above.
However if DF had other serious options at that tim, I have a feeling it would have been a little different.

Not sure at that time who was available etc. But if you think back about the times he would drop Piroe for a half fit Paddy. Didnt he also start that season with Joseph as his main striker or was that the season before :duno:
For all the goals Piroe scored that season I don't recall much praise from DF.
All that said it just my opinion, and here is another, Piroe ain't PL level

Maybe Armstrong, Moore, that lad at Coventry we were linked with following promotion, even Che Adams

I do not understand why you would want to be rubbish his legacy. He did a great job in the Championship, it hasn’t worked out for him after we got promoted. Let’s not diminish his contribution, it reeks of pettiness.

I can't stand it mate, ER is like a kindergarten especially as parents allow them to run loose everywhere.

Nothing annoys me more than a snotty little kid imposing in my space, even when we're out eating in a restaurant or in a foyer of hotel, we were brought up to remain at the table throughout our meals. Fortunately, we plan our holidays when the blighters are at school or shall say should be at school.

How many times did fans end up in the wrong row yesterday?

Yes, he did with both Bamford & Joseph.

No he isn't, Piroe thinks he is as some do on here.

Of course they are entitled to their opinion. I just don't see it, watching matches live at ER last season, the PL is friightenlngly more quicker than the championship.

I don't know!

Even those three are just championship footballers.

Its such a different level.

There's truth in that. It was continuous up and down in the seats with the little 'uns all needing to go potty in the middle of the action. A lot of sheepish looking dads avoiding eye contact with the fans they were troubling

Even the adults are like that in the kop, as they drink so much beer prior to the games.

SG90 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2026 9:16 pm Just got back, I'm beat long day. It was a bit of a strange game tbh, not going to lie it was quite boring for the most part, people were on their phones near me haha.

Happy with the result, a look at new signings and great to see so many kids involved at the end too.

Big Tarik looks a monster and you can see him being a fan favourite already.
Wilson was quite anonymous outside the pass for the goal, and should've scored really.
James tried but no real quality and not a starter.
Gnonto looked a class above when he came on, really hope he isn't sold.
Glad Cairns got 2hrs and a clean sheet, he's fine as our back up for me.
I really liked Mills when he came on, trying skills and flicks. He reminded me of a pre-Red Bull Jack Clarke, a real maverick with no fear and unpredictable. If we could nurture our own homegrown version, we could save fortunes. Also we haven't had a ginger in a while.
Lienou and Cresswell are both not far off the first team. Both should feature in the League Cup 2nd round, no excuses really.

For those who think friendlies are pointless, you should see how many kids are coming for the first time, or the queue in the club shop
Good report SG 👍🏻 It’s hard to get the crowd up for a friendly especially for a mostly dull game like yesterday but a trip to ER is always special. I’m expecting a bit more of an atmosphere at the Scum game on Wednesday especially with a crowd of 82,000+
I’m really hoping Trafford gets his first start for us, can you imagine running out in your first game to a crowd like that :clapp: :shirtw: supcla: :scar1 :scarfe2:
The train ride down to Dublin will be interesting with no way to segregate the fans so hopefully it’s all a party atmosphere and we outnumber them 10-1. We’re staying over for the night so we’ll avoid the carnage on the train home after the game when the drink is in & the wit out. 🍻

Attending games can be very tiring, what with all the travelling, excitement & the adrenaline flowing.
Try driving an hour to the airport at 4am for the 6am flight to Leeds or sometimes Manchester.

I know pre season results etc have little meaning on the season, however, remember the last Bielsa pre season when we were absolutely dire .
