Confusing position, you say you are very happy with the 4 new players yet claim we need a better team..

That is a contentment hole you will never fill.

At what point would the current team receive some appreciation from you?

The "team" is made up of (at present) 21 players.... You can be happy with the 4 new players but not happy with the overall team.

The current starting 11 when fit and firing is fine for mid to lower battling to avoid relegation with a heavy weighting to staying up vs teams around us.

The issue is both our strikers are historically picking up 3 month type injuries in each season of the last 5 years except last year with a big drop off between DCL and nmecha. DCL injured... Goals dry up..... Same with a form drop off.... He did well last year but imagine an injury 3 months earlier... 5 goals less... 5 points less etc...

The same is true in a number of positions.... One senior cb to back up 3. Justin covering lb, rb and left cb.

No lb cover that limits attacks.... God forbid ampadu gets injured or stach.... There is no one to cover who offers anything like they do.

That's the issue... Between 1st and last there's a 5% difference....

I can read, I read the part where you essentially said our recruitment team isn't good enough.

In fact I doubt there is a recruitment team in the league who meets them, seeing everyone is still doing business.

It was the same last year... It was all the recruitment teams fault. it is just a form of deflection. if you can't complain about the 4 good signings then you have to direct your ire elsewhere, and why not an amorphous nebulous recruitment team.

Someone has to take the blame that your desires have not been fulfilled.

I can only speak for myself, but here's my reasoning, last year was poor.... With the caveat that the red bull network recommended Stach and Bijol.

Let's be honest no one else including premier league medical teams believed DCL would remain fit. He failed a medical at Newcastle was it? Now you can call it good business or call it a panic signing that worked out. The fact that his injury record/availability in the last 5 seasons before last year is the worst in Europe for his position points to the latter.

Muhamedovic.... Their club dire for gave an interview in which he was overjoyed by the opening bid as they were only expecting 20 million after negotiation.....

Perri..... Signed for 16 million, did averagely well in his first full European no1 season. Same issues reported in their press that we saw.... Again late window panic buy. Didn't work out now on loan and 16 million down the drain. I predicted this at the time on here.

Piroe.... Top scorer in champ.... Not sold on, now on loan with west ham with his contract run down and a paltry 10 million recouped only if they're promoted.

Struijk.... Allowef to run down his contract forcing a 20 million sale.... In this market he's a 40 million defender all day.

Meslier.... 30 million keeper.... Now arsenals no2 ran down his contract.... Gone for nothing.....

Gnonto will do the same next year with one year left.....

James will do the same.....

This isn't how Brighton and Brentford have progressed.

Our head of recruitment before last season had not held the position in any capacity in any league before last year. It shows.... We pay over the odds and are crap at asset management.

Remember Helder Costa? Remember Junior Firpo’s first six months? We had content! We had debates in the pub that lasted until 3 AM! Now someone asks how the new center-back is doing and all I can say is, "Well, he’s solid, reliable, and reasonably priced."

It makes me sick. Give me someone I can blame, it's been ages since we have had a good JKA fiasco. all we're left with is a well-run football club... and where's the fun in that I ask you?

Felt we needed a striker so much they were willing to pay a club record fee for Strand-Larsen in January

No hint of a striker since.

Felt we needed a cm so much they were willing to pay £25mil for Shea Charles, no hint of a midfielder since.

Felt we needed a 10 so much they pushed and pushed for Julian Brandt, no hint of a 10 since.

Just seems a bit odd.

And yet here we are into a new season making a steady start on the back of a season where we, eventually I grant you, showed an ability to fight our corner and arguably, this Transfer Window, have imported some quality into last seasons squad. My feeling is that we should end up around the 50ish point mark and about mid table. The financial outlook for us is fine and looking like it will improve. I can accept that we will never balance the books as far as player transfers are concerned; we have to nevertheless live within our means which we are currently doing.

Here's the thing, a conundrum with Ramazanni. He is deemed to not fit into the scheme of things. Some folks rate him as a player yet the signal being sent is that he is not good enough for Leeds united, yet at the same time there are those that would complain that we are not getting top dollar for him.

We don't want him, but we want to sell him for a profit. There is a certain discongruity there, a flawed logic, that other clubs see through

I'm sure he'll kick on elsewhere, and with Mancini back he could quickly resurrect his international career, which has died since he came to Leeds.

It really has the feeling that business is already done for us, things have gone very quiet.

NOBODY has said that we've added depth. But people are rightly in my view stating that we have improved the quality of our squad. The transfer window isn't closed yet, so let's see what happens.

I get why Gnonto would want to leave, he's not in Farke's unlimited chances pack.

He has international aspirations

But this was what the club briefed



They've signed 0 full backs or wing backs.

The only attacking signing was a free transfer, accepting the fact we've probably paid through the nose for Wilson and even if you are a big fan (I'm not).

It's been very different from what they clearly told The Athletic.

And now the potential Gnonto for Mudryk thing.

1 in 1 out.

We've only got 19 senior outfield players as it is.

We seem to identify areas of weakness, go for one player.

As if the players we went for were prime R9, Messi and Xavi and nobody else is good enough
