Does seem that Farke or the transfer team (or both) like speed given that we have James, Okafor and possibly now JMB. No matter what ability someone like Gnonto has he is easier for a full back to deal with than facing someone that can simply push the ball past them and run (or explode into the space left behind by a full back pushing up like Dan James did v Forst in the cup match).

Just to ask the obvious?

We can't really find game time to fit James/Wilson or gnonto as wingers in the squad..... Our system doesn't have much of a use for them.

Why are we buying another winger? Is it just on pace for the counter? Know absolutely nothing about Mahoya other than his games based on acceleration and close control in wide areas.

Really worry that we won't have the tools to adapt to a lower block.... Feel like the prems shifting from "everyone copies pep" to a more pragmatic football.... Arsenal away are resolute but measured in attack and dont often leave themselves open to counters etc. If others copy I think we'll struggle to break them down....

In what way? You think it is easier to get past someone with skill than speed? Especially when you can often actually start further forward than the player meant to be marking you.

Sunderland are in a tug of war with Crystal Palace for Malick Fofana, a left winger. So hopefully given up on Bahoya.

I don't think Gnonto is slow, he has decent acceleration.

But I think purely being quick as a winger at the top level will only get you so far.

Lower leagues more useful.

But defenders are clever at this level.

I think if you had a very fast winger vs a very skillful and intelligent player the skillful one will be more of a threat probably 7/10

Like you I am concerned about this fella's lack of end product - we all rememeber Hadi Sakho (or for the younger fans have a look at Usain Bolt playing footy a couple of years back).

Hopefully this fella, and no offence intended to the transgender folk, can add that to his game. Same with Dan James, having the pace can get you into positions that Gnonto would struggle to get into - it is just then having the quality to make it matter often enough to make it more beneficial than a more skillful player who may hve better end product but doesn't get into the good positions often enough.

Have we signed Bahoya?

From what Ive seen Bahoya is in on loan as is Bard.
Both are amazing signings.
Bahoya broke into Bayern's 1st team as an 18 year old.
His stats say he is the fastest player in the Bundesliga. He's played Euro football and if he works out, the option to buy fee is reasonable. He can also play wide or as a central forward.

Bard is an excellent and versatile defender. Also a captain. So we are building an even stronger dressing room imo.
