By numbers it's probably Beckford , but he didn't do it at higher levels . I see Hunt , Paynter and some others aren't listed 😁😁 . This club has had some awful strikers in recent times .

Difficult, Beckford only did it at Lg 1 standard, Rodrigo was quality in the prem

Rodrigo for me

Good thought these Best positions threads are, I’m beginning to think it should be have been a ten year period ie 2006-2016 and then a separate one for 2017-2027.
We are all picking on memories and moments.
Beckford was great for us in L1 but DCL is doing it in the PL and Klich was good to watch but Stach is probably the better overall player.

Another way would be a best of L1, best of Championship and best of Premier League.

So far I’ve voted on not necessarily the best player but who has looked classy at a particular time, even if they aren’t the best player.

Nice suggestions.

Food for thought, Finn

I did these polls during the long international break in an attempt to maintain some interest on the forum, as I knew it would be as dead as a dodo on here with no Leeds games to discuss.

Best striker to me suggests the player who did the best under the current circumstances at the time

So Beckford by a mile

Or Piroe of course.

👍🏻 keep up the good work

Another idea would be to be L1/bottom half of the Championship best players.
Top half Championship/ relegation places of PL and lastly, when we finished above relegation in the PL.
That covers the transitions between leagues too.

From the Leeds page on BBC Sport.

When Leeds do threaten from open play, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is usually at the heart of it. The rejuvenated striker ranks third in the league for open-play xG, and signing him on a free transfer in August 2025 increasingly appears to be a masterstroke.

He has scored 17 Premier League goals since the start of last season - a tally bettered by only four players, none of them English. The 29-year-old has also won 24 aerial duels this term, the league's third-highest total, and ranks third for pressures applied in the final third.

A proper No.9, John.

I may be wrong on this and haven't bothered to check but I have a feeling Rodrigo is statistically our most effective striker between him, Bamford and DCL.

Certainly the most talented

But I've got a feeling he was much more effective than people remember whereas DCL and Bamford got more pens to pad their numbers

I wasn’t. Once we played him as a striker and not winger or midfielder then he came into his own

Rodrigo scored two penalties in his 28 goals in 97 appearances.

Calvert-Lewin scored four penalties in his 18 goals in 43 appearances.

That makes me more certain.

In his last season he missed loads of games and got 12 goals was it?

I'm 90% sure was an article done on Leeds United premier league strikers and Rodrigo did much better than he got credit for.

Especially given he was played out of position for large periods.

Goals/Appearances ratio.

43% Calvert-Lewin
29% Rodrigo

Absolutely DCL for me- CJAY is determined to pick anyone but DCL - his opinion of DCL since he joined is not a positive one.

Rodrigo had some nice moments but he wasn’t suited to the prem for me and his first touch was very average at times.

We can agree to disagree (I'm resisting the urge to check as it's just an opinion poll)

But I'm confident Rodrigo minus pens was more effective than DCL statistically

And think Bamford was as well.

Recency bias etc
