Manure pre match chat
Matchday 7 is approaching.
After a spirited but ultimately point less display in London vs Premier League Champions Arsenal we welcome Manchester United to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.
After totally changing their season around last season Michael Carrick is under pressure and fighting for his job already.
Only 1 league win in 6 and a mid table position.
Whilst we were being competitive for large periods vs Arsenal Manure were struggling against struggling Spurs.
Tactics wise not much has changed, lots of possession, lots of shots actually and touches in the box, getting the ball forward hasn't been an issue
But struggling to turn it into results and a criticism they don't work hard enough and are a bit soft.
In terms of key players Captain Bruno Fernandes is as ever a main threat, 3 goals and an assist and ranking very high for creative passes as ever.
Pacey winger Bryan Mbuemo also has 3 goals and is a threat from wide.
And whilst not universally popular giant defender Harry Maguire is still one of the most physical cbs in the league.
But this is a side that can't keep goals out, only 1 clean sheet this season in all competitions and one maybe struggling with the added pressure of European football (they play Spanish giants Atletico Madrid tonight)
They also have a fair amount of injuries with Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, Patrick Dorgu, Noussair Mazraoui and Benjamin Sesko all out or doubts for Sunday.
In terms of ourselves then you'd hope for a similar well organised brave display as we saw for 50-60minutes vs Arsenal.
James Trafford has saved us numerous times already so is entitled to one bad game (hopefully got it out of his system).
Not much really to say tactically, you'd expect us to stick with the same back 5, direct style that has helped us the last year or so.
Maybe some player changes?
Given someone like Harry Maguire would Jaka Bijol be a sensible player to come in?
Noah Okafor is a bit of an anomaly, on the one hand he can often look our main and only real threat in open play, on the other he's as likely to lose the ball, fall over his own feet or kick it out of play.
Could we see Harry Wilson come in? Or maybe a proper front 2 with Lukas Nmecha?
In midfield with Farke favourite Illia Gruev back could we see a second defensive midfielder bought In for Stach or Tanaka?
Finally given the circumstances wou)d people be disappointed with a point? Given the struggles Manure are having?
Or given our own struggles in pre 8pm kick offs (a really weird fact but a fact nonetheless) we have the worst record in the league since promotion would a point be seen as ticking along?

The team right now picks itself for the majority of us.
If you had thrown a grenade in such as Aaronson
I do think Tanaka has finally convinced Farke with his excellent form this season.
I personally don't mind if Bijol or Elvedi starts,

We really should be looking to win this one given all the injuries Manure have and the fact they are playing AM tonight

Some balls on him Lisandro Martinez.
Rarely hear a player directing criticism up above the manager.

Awful to watch the poor buggers loose again - I had to open a bottle to console myself. Moor good news when Yoro was sent off and even better news when that Martinez pillock went on TV criticising the boss of the recruitment team - it seems that all is not smelling of roses in the dressing room which is good. Watching their last few matches on TV hoping to see them beaten it was obvious that when they are up against it BROOOONO is hardly to be seen - good team man !!

Hello all, I'm new to the forum, although been a Leeds fan since 1966. This game is certainly interesting in that we are probably billed as favourites for the game which hasn't happened for a very long time. If we start fast and more importantly convert our chances, we should win this one. My only concern is that we do not have a good second striker, Nmecha huffs and puffs but doesn't do it for me. I would also start Wilson (assuming he is fit) we have to get him involved in how we play and use to the system, otherwise it will be a major disappointment for us all. MOT
