Twigs we need a video of this.

I remember Fame Academy. I really hated the husband and wife mentor people and that silly fitness coach with psycho eyes.
Any show that brought us David Sneddon though is okay in my book :?

Personally I really liked Carrie and David, Kev the fitness coach was a bit of a nutter but did his job. The overall concept of the show was a much better one than X Factor though.
And they didn't exactly bring us David Sneddon did they? Or Alex Parks for that matter, who won the second series. If one of the ITV team had been in charge of marketing Parks, she would have been huge. THAT was the problem with FA, loads of talent, shown off very briefly, then not marketed properly and they disappear into nothing.

Personally, all programmes in the 6-9pm Saturday "brain dead" slot should be made pay per view...to spare the rest of us this total drivel !!

Ah! Carrie and David  I've heard of them as they are part of a kids' show called Pop Shop which my little lad absolutely loves :-D :bear:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Is this the bit where I admit to tuning into that show just because I love them?

i agree that the concept of FA was better than XF but the execution lacked. I think they saw the success of XF and said "we need some of that action, but how can we make it seem like a different idea?" Their solution was to allow instruments, give them some more coaching and encourage the ideas of the individuals. All good things. Sadly, that was as far as it went and, in typical BBC style, when it wasn't lapped up they relegated all of the coverage to non-peak times and only kept the kick out show to prime time stuff. The problem here was that the prime time show was 9pm on Friday (aka pub time). Nobody watched, nobody cared not even the BBC.
XF has had its day for me. The use of the live crowd during the auditions smacked of desperation last year to try and keep it fresh. All that happened is that the judges didn't have to think too much as they just used the audience reaction to determine who would be successful. Had it been private auditions it would have tested the judges more since they are never sure if an act works until they are in front of a crowd. Therefore the judges actually have to spot the X-Factor that they so desire instead of simply noticing it when 10,000 are cheering along. We have known for years that they have an agenda that they wish to follow where certain acts get sent out first on the live shows just so they can get rid, Jedward get kept in by a turncoat Cowell over the act he was raving about simply because he knows the ratings system etc. This auto-tune thing could be the thing that stops me watching permanently.
As an alternative how about "Must Be The Music"?? It has Fearne Cotton presenting which always nice, encourages instruments and performing of own songs. It even has Dizzee Rascal as a judge who is hilarious. He is as mad as a box of frogs and regularly tells acts "that was crap" or turns to the cheering crowd and tells them he doesn't care what they think as he is the judge and they can sod off. Quality stuff! Just lacks Cheryl Cole in her skimpies sadly :(

I was kind of agreeing with you until your last paragraph when you seemed to have inhaled some heady substance and gone off on a tangent  Dizzee Rascal is crap .... sorry but he is. Cheryl Cole in her skimpies? Oh Please  Hope she disappears off our screens really soon, the vacuous talentless airheaded bint  :bear:

Nobody said anything about Cheryl saying or doing anything! I want her there just to look pretty, possibly act suggestively too! :-D
