away fans

Post by 1964white »

How many other clubs including those in the premiership would take 6000 to 7000 fans to away games if they were playing in the Championship :?:

I don't know how many traveling fans the Premier league clubs get now - but I'd guess that the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle, Citeh, Scum, Everton and Liverpool would do it. Maybe Villa, West Ham to. Probably if a club averages 25k or more at home they'd be a good bet.

I reckon the Scum, City, Scousers (not Everton) & the Geordies out of that lot

Remember the prawn sandwich brigade that exists at most premiership clubs, their support would soon drop away if they were relegated to the championship, they had it good up there far too long to watch second division football

Chelsea are notoriously bad supporters, they only started filling SB in the last decade

17,000 at SB at a London derby v Arsenal in the 90's & it wasn't on tv

That lot would disappear if their club dropped out of the top 4 of the premiership

You are joking Billy

If you care to go to the London games there are loads of southern based fans, many midland based fans at Walsall last season

I know of at least 40 fans who travel from North/East Yorks to away games

More Leeds based away fans than you think, Leon. They prefer to go away as they can show their support instead of being hassled by stewards every game at ER.

I reckon around 25% of the Leeds fans will not be Leeds based at Coventry

You need some proof for starters that i know of;

16 from Portsmouth who were at the Scunny game last week

9 from our branch

35 from Scarboro branch

Whitby branch could be taking a coach as they often do

3 friends from Buckinghamshire

Jo, Dan, EastYorkswhite & four of his friends, Cardiff White, (a few more off here i suspect)

Unsure about my Dr friend & his dad who stand behind me in the kop, awaiting text from him so we can meet up, both from Keighley

Just out of interest 64, do you class Wakefield as part of Leeds in terms of support?

other countries you mean, allot of tourists watch the scum games

most Leeds fans who don't live in Leeds, such as me and my Leeds fan mates, originally came from Leeds or still have family there, very rare I find a Leeds fan with no connections to Leeds

Think it's why we have a great support as Leeds fans are everywhere
