In order to strengthen their squad ,Swansea look like they will need to sell first .They also have at least one player whose contract is up at the end of the season. Are any of these players any good ? Pratley ( contract rebel and divides Swansea fans opinions a bit like JB),Allen (midfield ), Williams ( centre back) ,or Rangel ( right full back) may have to be sold in order for Rodgers to bring in a striker . Perhaps an opportunity for SG to weaken a promotion rival whilst strengthening our own challenge . As long as they aren't clunkers like Robbo or Fede.

But we did that with Clayton. Took him on loan, then signed him. Doing loans for younger players makes sure we are not getting damaged/crocked/over-rated players to buy. Just saying.

All 4 are good players. Pratley would be ideal for the defensive midfielder role we desperately need - a box to box midfielder with a good ratio of goals, but I am not sure how much Swansea would want for him, and there have been rumours of lower Prem interest. Rangel and Allen are good players, but not something we specifically need at the moment (although Rangel is a better player than Connolly). Williams would be a good signing - a ball playing centre half at the right age, but again the fee would probably be the stumbling block.

On today's performance, it would be worth a look at Anthony Pilkington, who would also be an excellent replacement for BJ.

Can see what your saying but theres nothing worse than having a player and at the end of the season see him develop into a good player and then see him go, clayton will be a good player for us next season and I personaly would take him back now. Ha and its not like we have the money to buy young talent so we have to stick to loans

I know I keep banging on about this guy but he just cannot stop scoring .Two goals against Eastbourne on Saturday and another double today against Forest Green . He's runaway top scorer in the Blue Square Premiership and really does have something about him. Some players do develop late ( he's 26) ,but they can still go on and cut it at the highest level .Ian Wright is a classic example of that . If SG is running the rule over Matt Tubbs he could do a whole lot worse .

I'm new to the MOT boards but just wanted to say - of all the Leeds forums and all the places one can go to talk about the mighty Whites online, this is by far the best!!!

Currently checking out some of the latest rumours on the net and sifting out the one's I feel would benefit us the most. Also the one's, as a fan, I Would like to see most -

Alan Smith - CM/DM/FW (Loan) Age 30
Ideal to fill the gap left by Killa and the potential gap left by BJ. Injury prone but still has enough left in the engine to deliver at Champ level, as proven last season. There may be issues over wages but one thing he would guarentee is commitment and there's no doubt Smithy would want nothing more than returning his beloved Leeds back to the Prem and redeeming himself in the eyes of the fans.

Adam Hammill - RW/LW/FW (500k) Age 22
So we've gone from stuggling for wingers in the past few years to having Snoddy, Max, Sam and Watt all firing on this season. Also, Aidy White is flourishing in the role at Oldham, but there is no denying Hammill has massive potential, especially after seeing him rip us apart earlier this season. The 500k fee is a clause in his contract and way below what he's probably valued at. Lower prem interested but may be tempted into joining the fight by Larry.

Michael Johnson - CM (Loan) Age 22
Killa/BJ replacement. Work with a couple of City fans who can't say enough good things about Johnson. Been ravaged with injury and has allegedly developed a drink problem but the City fans assure me, if he gets back to anywhere near his form from a couple of years ago - he will be unstoppable at Champ level. Box-to-box Centre mid, creative with superb stamina. Fingers crossed he's the player he used to be.

George McCartney - LB (Loan/Fee?) Age 29
Apparently his wages are the stumbling block ahead of a permanent transfer, most likely a loan until the end of the season. Best left-back we've had in some time, but that's not saying much. Feel he could do a job for us, as he was doing, but we'll have to see what Bruce Snr. Has to say.

The likelihood of these moves varies - but as mentioned, These would be my four additions ... if we even make that many.

Bezza, I understand you opting for a CB over another winger (Although Hammill does look awesome) but just like many are stuck on the fence over Smithy, I'm not so sure about Woodgate. Three games last season, none this season, injury prone and his best days well behind him. The latter also applies to Smith but he played 32 times last season and 9 this time round. Surely between Bruce, Bromby and Collins - one of them can step up alongside O'Brien until Kisnorbo's fit again.

Maybe neither Woodgate -or- Smith are the answer.

I think it's almost certain Woodgate will come to Leeds no doubt about it, i doubt some people will be happy about it though, but he is a great defender if he stays safe.

That's a pretty big prediction there Tobias. I would be happy, as long as he can stay injury-free and actually helps us keep clean sheets. Figners-crossed.

Yea i think he will though Crude Shoe, Middlesbrough maybe aswell have the same chance as us. But we really do need atleast 2 new defenders and woodgate would be a perfect one. It's a risk but a good risk.

Let's hope no one breaks his.. wooden gate.. it's the best i could do leave me alone

like the article says, woody is one of the best CB's in the country when fully fit and even when not he is still better than any CB's in the championship. if we could keep him match fit for the remainder of the season and play him with o'brien then they would make a phenomenal partnership at this level.
