Leeds v Forest/Player Ratings

Post by 1964white »

After the absymal showing at Bramall Lane, do you think Grayson will make wholesale/any changes for the Forest game next week

Rumours are that Larry is looking to bring in another loan signing before the deadline

I personally don't think Larry will make too many changes, tbh he has some difficult decisions to make particularly in the midfield/striker positions especially as our free flowing frontline have failed to score in the last two games & we wouldn't have scored last Saturday if the blunts players had been blindfolded :(

Becchio, Snodgrass & McCartney have been particularly poor lately, we really haven't got an adequate replacement for Becchio or McCartney as it stands atm

McCormack, Watt, Numez & Clayton are all showing good form in the reserves but can they prove worthy of a place v championship opposition :?:

Paynter is of course suspended

I wouldn't be surprised if Larry brought back Killa too

My team

Kasper

Lichaj O'Brien Bromby McCartney

Johnson

Gradel Bannan Watt

Howson

Becchio

subs; Higgs Bruce Clayton Killa Snoddy Somma Mccormack (no doubt Larry will have Naylor on the bench though who is not required tbh with Bruce & Johnson who can slot into varying roles if need be)

So just the one change for me with Watt coming in for Snoddy. Would drop Becchio but who else can play that lone role, at least Becchio gives us an extra defensive option when we concede our usual quota of free kicks & corners

Think the only change will be Bruce for Bromby (unless he gets a good loan signing in) not I think he should but will, think he needs to be seen to make a change and Bromby is an easy option>Do rate Grayson as a manager but still feel he shirks away from making hard decisions ie dropping certain individuals when they're not performing.I like you would drop Snoddy and bring in Watt. This is a game I feel we have to win.

Difficult even for a good loan signing to come into a team and have an impact? Outside of this too many changes can be very disruptive. I would tend to stick with the players that have served us pretty well so far and trust that a motivated team at a very passionate ER will see us to 3 points, which is required over performances at this stage of the season.

I guess id go with that.... Have Nunez on the bench though too. Give him a run in the last 10 / 20 minutes maybe...

The 2 week break will do the world of good so like most I don't think there will be many changes . I have a sneaky feeling that McCormack will prove to be a deciding factor in the remaining games . He's running into form and is a class player we haven't seen the benefit of . Yet !

kila in banana on the bench. nunez on the bench and mccormack with becchio in the side.
we can only do 4-5-1 as that is where we gather most of our points from. we can't afford to do what we did a few months ago and pi55 about with the formation too much when we were already on a winning formula and then end up having a lean streak on the points front.
the next 2 games are massive and we could find ourselves well on the way to cementing a play off place if we win....on the other hand if we lose them both we could end up in 9th or 10th.

Has to be the following for me:

Kasper

Lichaj O'B Bromby Parker

Johnson Bannan

McCormack Howson(C) Gradel

Becchio

Subs: Gonzalez Bruce Connolly Killa Nunez Watt Somma

Long time until the next game but providing there are no injury worries as above.

If snoddy is to be taken out he should be rested all together imo.
nunez to come on midway thru 2nd half, same with somma and watt slightly later on i feel. depends on the game i guess!

It would be nice to see my fav player brucie burger brought back in, I dont think we will see any changes other than bruce for bromby and Bannan keeping his place over killa, if grayson has dropped him already he must really be a fan of the lad.
Same team with one or two changes and Hopefully Snoddy will get a decent rest, but he has got to go play for Scotland, 2 weeks would be just about right for him too...
WE''RE LEEDS UNITED, WE''LL NEVER BE DEFEATED!

Paul Green was warnobs best signing.

Hopefully we will see a revitalised Becchio after two weeks rest and Snoddy buoyed by a decent performance against Brazil. Parker still doesn't look back to full fitness on his televised reserves outings recently so expect Macca to keep his place. Surely Nuñez must soon get a place on the bench if he returns from Honduras in one piece. Will Grayson drop Naylor from the bench though? I suspect not.

I'd like:

Schmeichel

Lichaj Bromby O'Brien McCartney

Bannan Johnson

Snodgrass Howson Gradel

Becchio

Subs: Higgs, Bruce, Killa, Nuñez, Watt, Somma, McCormack

But expect Naylor to be on the bench rather than Nuñez. :(

McCormack has been kept out of the side so far by the strong performance of the incumbents. With our attack now faltering he deserves a shot.

We have good players who havent got much game time in McCormack Nunez Clayton and Watt,, surely 1 or 2 of these guys can come in and give us the benifit of there fresh legs

doubt he'll change much, leave the players to prove they can do better. Definitely think Snoddy needs a couple of games rest but we would miss his service. Watt deserves a first team place at the moment and I think McCormack will return to the bench.

4-4-1-1 with Howson playing off Becchio? Allows Bannan some control in midfield but also use his energy to help Johnson. Hard work from Watt and Gradel would make it operate and licence for Howson to get forward.

Kasper

Connolly O'Brien Bromby McCartney

Watt Johnson Bannan Gradel

Howson
Becchio

This is a must win if we want auto promotion IMO. A win now could really boost the morale. If we don't win it isn't the end of the world, but knowing Leeds we will do it the hard way..

yes, and the last game of the season against QPR will also be followed by a court meeting deciding whether or not to take points off, which they will not, and Swansea will be overtaken by us going down to an extra time penalty. I can see it all now..

Bearing in mind it is quite conceivable that our captain Jonny Howson could miss th Forest game

What team & formation would you play this Saturday after the dismal/inept performance v the Blunts which have been far too many especially away from home lately :?:

I reckon he will either stick with 4-5-1 with Livermore and Johnson deep and Bannan in Howson's role, or he will play 4-4-2 with Livermore and Bannan. The choice of partner for Becchio is trickier, my feeling is that with his recent goalscoring exploits for the reserves and more ability to play from deep McCormack may come straight into the side.

Livermore and Johnson is a great option for Grayson to play - suddenly the centre of our midfield starts looking big and powerful.
