Montgomery was relegated. Paynter was part of a cracking season at LUFC. Surprised you need to askDr.Leeds wrote:

But this discussion has little to do with music, so the closest I can come to getting Montgomery into a music track is:
Bates, GFH, Cellino: Same s**t, different arseholes.

This thread has little to do with music these days to be perfectly honest although Montgomery at least is a slight return to form.

Would love to see them live - wonder if they still play "Get it On".
Thanks for that.

Beyonce was magnificent at Glastonbury - best act on show by some margin. This at the end was gorgeous:
The original [stolen beautifully for her last single] and from one of the greatest albums I know :
Her cover of this was superb but this is the one:
And as brilliant as she is this is still the one:
An absolute highspot for me tonight:

I'm a fan mate, as you know, but have to admit to being decidedly underwhelmed. If i'd been there say I daresay I'd have found her more entertaining than most varieties of indie landfill that one connoisseur or another on the beeb claimed was the next best thing since sliced bread but I honestly expected better.faaip wrote:took a beating on the darkside, but what do they know now the conniosseurs have left.

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread
WOAH! I found this thread on page two!!!
Anyroad hoping this will entice 64 back, as he seems to have disappeared?
60's legends The Pretty Things are playing Leeds in September.Details here
My band supported them in Holland on tour in the mid 80's - they were old then! Guess they don't have owt better to do in their old age.
At the opening gig of that tour, there were 2 tables in the shared dressing room. One for each band. Beer and wine and sarnies on each table, but their table had two bottles of scotch. So we thought "oh, the jobsworth has made a mistake" and we drank one of the bottles.
Seems that singer Phil May had specified he gets two bottles of scotch, on the rider. He wasn't well pleased with us!
OOPS!
Incidentally, bassist Dick Taylor was the original guitarist for the Rolling Stones. Was moved to bass player when Jagger wanted Brian Jones as guitarist and eventually quit the Stones to form The Pretty Things.
That was from the original rock opera.
Road Runner!
Finally - why they were the best British R'n'B band ever....
Enjoy!

How f*cking amazing is this song. Breathless when I first heard it, then sounded absolutely fantastic at Glastonbury.

Supertramp meets The Edge...tried to listen, but had to run and blow chunks ½ way thru it. Sorry, it's nauseating.Telepres wrote:
