The Loan Window AKA Leeds' Transfer Window

Post by bezzawezza »

Now the real excitement starts folks. None of this reinvesting in the squad and buying players rubbish. Yesterday was just a car boot sale for getting some money together for a hotel. Now the real business starts. In this league the only way forward is to sign players deemed too rubbish for other clubs and sent out to us on loan. Occasionally someone will upset the balance and turn out to be good but we just have to accept that and realise that Larry will send those players back to their parent club pronto.
This is how to do football club ownership people.

Bates followers talk of building a team slowly in our quest for success :?

At the end of last season we sent back 6 loanee's to their parent clubs

We approached the pre-season friendlies with 5 players on the treatment table ( 2 long term injuries) plus we have released or sold 5 players bringing in around the same numbers, virtually a whole team unavailable to us at a critical stage as we prepare for the new season. Now 5 games into the season we are still have a very-weight squad

So of course we are set to delve into the loan market again :?

Can the Bates followers tell me is this the correct way to operate our football club ? if the answer is yes the idea of building a team slowly is somewhat contradictory in other words a load of cobblers !

anyone seen Twiggs?....does he always disappear at this time? Or does he need time to regather himself before being able to put a positive spin on things again?

I see no problem with loans as long as they are to cover LB or DS or even to get people in before going to buy them, but loans instead of buys pisses me right off.
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

Loan signing's are better anyway!

There's less pressure on the player and he can just enjoy his loan spell, look at Keogh.. he's in the best form of his life!
He's enjoying the game again, anyone who comes on Loan at Leeds will enjoy it alot and play with freedom.

Hopefully we can get 1-3 Loan signing's in, that'll do!

A flurry of new faces on transfer deadline day meant the Potters could omit Danny Collins, Tom Soares, Danny Pugh, Michael Tonge and Andrew Davies from their Premier League lists.

Similarly, Neil Warnock named Rob Hulse, Patrick Agyemang, Hogan Ephraim, Danny Shittu and Petter Vaagan Moen as being surplus to his team’s requirements.

a few players listed above who would be very useful in the championship!

QPR winger eyes loan switch
Sep 7 2011 By Jacob Murtagh

NEIL Warnock has promised to refund any loan fee paid for Lee Cook if he gets crocked.

The former Watford star is hoping to get some game time elsewhere when the loan window opens tomorrow having been left out of QPR's 25-man squad list submitted to the Premier League.

Cook has been dogged by injury problems in recent years, but is back to fitness and featured for the reserves in a behind-closed-doors friendly with West Ham this afternoon.

“We’re happy to pay back any loan fee paid for Lee Cook to a club that takes him if he breaks down during the loan period,” said boss Warnock.

“Nobody’s worked harder pre-season, and if clubs are worried about Lee’s fitness, they should know it won’t cost them anything, and they could still get a very good player."

Not really a loan, but Bates said today we are offering a contract to Forssell and should "tie up the deal this week"
Guess we are going 4-2-4 then?

only if he accepts the contract offered! probably only been offered a peppercorn wage with 50% discount at howard's as a goal bonus

would be useful back-up if it happened but i will only believe it when i see it

Why do you persist in blaming Bates? It may suit your scheme to undermine Bates but we know for a fact that Simon likes loans and Bates is less keen. Debate is this is a good or bad thing as much as you like but stop spinning because spinning is what you [allegedly[ despise mate

Larry Likes loans - good or bad idea, discuss.

Keogh - brilliant loan

O'Dea possibly brilliant loan

ps: who are the Bates followers by the way. I don't think you'll find one on this message board. What you will find are people who follow LUFC and think that, in the absence of a better alternative, Bates should be supported rather than abused . That's certainly my position until you and the rest of the entrepreneurs on here get together and buy the club and implement your impressive plans for team development :?
