was told grayson started seeing her in january(when kilkenny was away with the aussies)
knowing the transfer dealings at leeds he probable took her on a months loan liked what she brought to the team and took her on another 93 day emergency loan until the end of the season with the option of a long term deal

Just made a topic for this, but I'll delete it as you posted the link before me, Norm...
Hope he is back in a better state of mind and that the crowd gets behind him.

I find this news somewhat heart-warming and welcome him back with open arms. I think he could have a big part to play for us.

Re: Andy O'Brien refused to play
We need an old experienced head in there to compliment out young defence. If he's got things straight hopefully he can make a big contribution to the rest of the season.HairyArse wrote:I find this news somewhat heart-warming and welcome him back with open arms. Re: Andy O'Brien refused to play
good, this needed resolving...get him back in the matchday squad and then team him up with Lees...he's easily good enough for this level if his head is in the right place

Re: Andy O'Brien refused to play
I'm surprised the club hadn't made this public earlier to be honest though, it would have reduced negative speculation surrounding the whole situation.
Even if he's not playing for a little while, hopefully he can be a good influence on the training ground and help bring the young defence together a bit more.

Well this is a surprising turn of events. Hope he can get his head sorted and back contributing to the success of Leeds United. Come on Andy!

People worry about media management more, unfortunately. Nobody needs to know the details, but I agree that a general statement would have helped club, player and fans.Genghers wrote:I'm surprised the club hadn't made this public earlier to be honest though, it would have reduced negative speculation surrounding the whole situation.
Personally, I hope that the lad can sort out his issues and get his life back on track.

Re: Andy O'Brien refused to play
I disagree. Speculation would have happened whether they had made an earlier statement or not. In any instance we don't know what they knew and when anyway, so i think the club have handled this right. Just glad it is sorted now and if O'B has big enough cahones to pull that white shirt back on and run out onto the field at ER he deserves support from everyone at the club.Genghers wrote:I'm surprised the club hadn't made this public earlier to be honest though, it would have reduced negative speculation surrounding the whole situation.

Re: Andy O'Brien refused to play
This is good news I think. It means there was a reason Andy O'brien was playing badly and that there is a possibility he can get back to playing well, as he seemed to show he can when he first arrived. God knows we need help in defence. It is also good news for the man himself. He always seemed a decent bloke when LUFC players were allowed on twitter.
I think the announcement needed the word sorry in there though as if all is true Grayson coming out and saying "he'll never play for us/me again" was a bit over the top and premature. Also am I being cynical in viewing the timing of this announcement somewhat convenient - a good story that is much more likely to be the talk on the terraces instead of the lack of permanent and quality signings in this window that so many fans wanted?
All in all I think it amounts to a good thing though.

That's because there's more to it than the club are stating, please believe me.Genghers wrote:I'm surprised the club hadn't made this public earlier to be honest though, it would have reduced negative speculation surrounding the whole situation.

Re: Andy O'Brien refused to play
It sounds like he's been through a very tough time. It must have been even worse with all the speculation going on. But was this the cause of the problems or an effect of it? Obviously the club, including Grayson, didn't know about the real issues and so that's why he effectively slated him. I presume this means their relationship is reset. Perhaps his behaviour should have rang alarm bells though. I don't know enough to make a judgement on that. But it's good for him and the club. I hope he can make a positive contribution to the team in the future, but I'm a bit cynical about the timing of this "good news" on last day of the transfer window.

I honestly can't mate,I'd get a massive kick in the nadgers if I did, but a manager doesn't say a player will never play for him again over a case of depression.
