If true that would be good - a season long deal leaving us free to think again at seasons end. I see Kisnorbo and Peter Reid in my mind for some reasonknighty wrote:http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/fo ... _1_4262006
Lets hope he gets this team sorted!

This should have been announced 3 games ago in my opinion.

Ken is going to make me eat my words on this. I was convinced he wouldn't be able to get (or shell out for) someone of Warnock's standing. The 3 week delay may really have been down to his severance settlement with QPR.
Surely you stand the best chance with a manager who's been promoted as many times as he has. It's not a foregone that it will work, but he's got to be a great bet.

Shaun Harvey: "We have 18 games to go this season and are still within touching distance of the Play-Offs, but felt with the transfer window now closed we needed to make the change at this time in the belief that a new managerial team will be able to get more out of the existing squad of players and make the difference."
Kind of made sense at the time but all following actions showed it to be BS. Bates had a hissy, sacked Grayson, made some nonsense up, bought time, hoped the "care-taker effect" might work, and has finally made a semi-sensible replacement decision, but too late I think.

Let's just see what that 'support' entails eh?Leeds United chairman Ken Bates said: "We believe the appointment is arguably the most important we have made. The objective was to appoint a manager who had for a proven track record of getting teams promoted and in Neil we have a man whose record is second to none. We want to be in the Premier League and we will support Neil in the quest to get us there."

Re: Warnock named United’s new manager!
I've always thought he has something about him that is admirable - his motivational skills, directness, Yorkshireman - I could see why QPR did well last season with him in charge. He also come's across as a bit of an over-opinionated and blinkered pillock. But he is the kind of guy you would rather have on your side than be on the opposition's I think.
All in all I reckon he is the right man for this job. I really hope and have a feeling he can get Leeds out of the Championship. I go to watch Leeds this season and next (I renewed) with a sense of optimism and interest. Something that was starting to dwindle.
