A publican has the right to refuse to sell to anyone on his premises.
However, he has to have good cause - for example being obviously drunk, or indeed as you say, "acting like a yob".
Neither of which is applicable in this case. Even a publican has to abide by certain guidelines, when deciding if a "refusal of service" is verified, or he could find himself in court.

Wrong. As an ex publican I can tell you that you have the right to ban ANYONE and you do not have to give good cause. It's called a public house. It's actually the publicans house and the "public" are in there at the publicans invite. There is nothing to say he/she has to give good cause to bar anyone.
