We're getting an almost entirely new team.

A cause for rejoicing, surely.

Or at least being slightly cheerful.

Can't really argue with the list, with perhaps Clayton being the only exception.
Some of the un-named players puzzle me, mainly Paddy Kisnorbo, who although a great guy, is in no way up to the fight to get us out of the Championship (preferably in an upwards direction!). Perhaps he is still listed as injured and cannot be transfer listed or released? Rogers and Somma an unknown quantity at the moment, both have to be worth a punt on when they are fit again? Bromby we know about, NW said he was part of his plans, and is also badly injured, leaving Pugh, a player who can do a reasonable job in a number of positions. The rest of the squad are youngsters and up-and-comers, ie Cairns, Charlie Taylor and Lewis Turner.

It's been an embarrassing season, and I too can't argue with the list, though, like many, I felt Clayton worth keeping, but it depends upon circumnstances.

However, I am also very nervous at the huge slashing of the squad before even a single credible replacement has signed even a pre - contract agreement.

Absolutely Drs.Dad, I'm going on what I see and hear. And I fully support the club in doing it's business as quietly as it can.

But you understand my general suspicion of the current regime!

Here's hoping anway. I suspect Mr Warnock won't take any from Ken and Co.

Personally, I strongly believe that Bates is now in a position to get the club promoted without having to pay off ex-shareholders, and so will put some money into the squad. He will then sell up, and spend his final few years soaking up some rays in Monaco. I also believe that Bates is the owner of Elland Road and Thorpe Arch, and pays himself by taking the rent for both for himself, so any new owner would end up owning the lot under one umbrella, instead of all these off-shore companies with unknown owners.

That's my point, digital radio stations don't have a band or frequency. But it's a local station, you can't get it outside of Yorkshire without Sky, internet, app.

It's possible. But when did he get Thorpe Arch - it would have to be after the Leeds Council involvement. In which case, why not just reveal the strength of the club's position and shut up the dissident's among us?

@PhilHayYEP: Neil Warnock says #lufc were unable to meet Clayton's wage demands. "We weren't prepared to give him the contract his agent asked for."

I forget when it was, but the Manchester guy who bought the sites sold them on, and no-one appears to know who owns them now (unless of course any of you know better). Nobody seems to want to claim ownership, who does that sound like????

Before we all get carried away with the players who are left we may still end up with some of the players who have been transfer listed if they cant agree deals with other clubs if they are still under contract to us.Also its all well and good thinking that just because we maybe getting a lot of new players in it may take a while for them to gell, and we may not have the season a lot of people think we will have suspect a few other teams will be thinking they are in with a good chance.Plus a lot of other clubs WILL pay the wages so the better players maybe attracted there.

Is there any evidence Adler sold them? They have always been owned by a holding company in the BVA since they were sold, just happens to be a different one now. This is pure speculation and has been rife since the day Bates took over.

I'm fairly sure Supercell had posted details of the sale? As a British businessman, Adler*s finances are public property. However there were no details as to WHO he sold to, as they were not British based? :duno:

More than happy with the outcome of retention day. Alot of crap has been filtered out. Totally agree with listing Clayton he is average at best and we need steel in the middle of the park.

I think Adam Clayton is an okay player, and he probably does have the ability to get better, but NW keeps telling us that this coming season is all about promotion, and i don't think Adam Clayton is of THAT standard just yet...

We've all wanted a really top quality CM for some time now, and by listing Clayton i guess he's putting himself in a position now where he has to go out and get one.. which is great!

The list is spot on, really.... Kisnorbo still has a place in the squad, too, which means my shirt from this season with his name on the back is still okay!

Only two decisions I disagree with: 1. Clayton should be kept, similar loss to Johnson or Howson for me; and 2. Brown getting a new deal, he's woeful and a loose cannon. Other than them, Warnock's rightfully cleaning house!
