And yet the bulk of the article is about how Aidy White and McCormack are set to leave.

Nice attempt at spinning bad news Dewsy!

Good news, if it happens. A promising young'un committing his future to the club, this is what we want to see

Just need to find the other half of our back four now

Out of them all Lees would of been the worst to lose.

As for White - Who does he think he is?
A player with great pace and tackle, but he has so much game of his to develop, I'll be amazed if a prem club comes in for him.
And ross?
One season wonder, The prem is not going to be a place he enjoys imo.

But if they want their pay checks and they are aiming high then fine, this is a symptom of the game now.
I still say if ross or white get in the prem i will be amazed.
WE''RE LEEDS UNITED, WE''LL NEVER BE DEFEATED!

Paul Green was warnobs best signing.
If you disagree please send me a PM so we can get in to a fight.

Can't argue with that.

while fans and clubs are fickle about players I don't see how we can complain when players are fickle about clubs.

you can't have it both ways.
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

Spot on. and he signed a 4 yerar deal last summer, so don't see it as exiting news, that he signes a new contract right now.

It does show though that the club is willing to spend money on wages when it doesn't need to as Lees is tied to a contract. Perhaps the board isn't as tight as some make out.

Or because it won't take much to give Lees a new contract they can appear as though they are trying. It's the players who are making demands that need new contracts where the problem arises. The new contract offered to Lees probably still won't be the going rate for the Championship.

It's a poor attempt at making it look like they've got ambition without submitting to having to spend money to keep hold of McCormack and Clayton.

Sorry but it doesn't appear as anything other than this. Why are they spending their time negotiating contracts with players who don't need new contracts signing? It's time and effort that should be spent throwing everything at keeping our best and getting new players in.

I'd rather have Lees that White, and possibly McCormack to be honest. Lees worth would only be getting recognised if he wasn't signing a contract. Thereforein henceforth, it's good news to see someone actually content at playing for Leeds.

95% of the bad news that is starting all the arguments are based on 'maybes', 'likelihoods' and baseless whims! :)
