NW has (hopefully) done what we all would have wanted first - sort the defence out - this is the reason we have missed out on play offs for the last 2 seasons, there can be no if's or buts we just havent defended well.

If he has indeed succeeded in doing this then at least we will be much more difficult to beat, certainly at Elland Road where our home record last year or so has been nothing short of embarrassing.

More clean sheets should lead to a more chance of winning games........I for one can see us being a tough nut to crack this year and therefore a team that should hover around or just below play off spot BUT without those two diamond signings, we may not have enough at the other end this season.

Overall, I am just confused. This seems as complicated as the plot of a soap opera where everyone is trying to screw everyone else. I know takeovers/mergers/acquisitions in the 'normal' business world are tricky affairs, but I have never been involved in one where someone like Bates had to be factored in.

Unfortunately, all I can do - like everyone else - is sit tight and wait to see just what happens. Frustrating, but the way it is.

good defences need time to gel...one pre season against poor teams won't do it....I think we maybe defensively vulnerable for a while till it beds in

we will get taken over i'm sure of it..the time is right. but it may not be soon and it may not be with the current group. we were told a while ago that a second group were interested but due to exclusivity were not able to go through their due dilligence

a second or new buyer will have to complete that process further muddying the waters...

we just have to wait it out....

And the next set of due diligence will necessarily involve looking very carefully at why the first deal fell apart at the last moment - so will take longer.

Hi floks, just heard the news last night, gutted is an understatement as to how I feel. This has to be the work of that mouldy ould b**tard Bates, man he is one twisted ould c**t. Harvey goes to see the miserable prick on Wednesday and the deal falls through the next day, honest to god would someone please hit that gob shite over the back of the head and get rid of him once and for all. Honestly being a Leeds fan would stretch every fiber in your body to breaking point. I just hope we all get behind NW and the players and give them the support they need on the pitch, then when their finished playing we can rip into that other ould ass*ole.........

If it is true, as reported on many sources, that the completed deal went to bates for his signature in late July and he then allowed the exclusivity period to elapse without signing, we can safely say that he has collapsed the deal.

Until I hear someone who is actually involved in the takeover saying what is happening or has happened then I treat all these 'sources' as being bullsh*t.

Yeah Bates may have done this, that or the other - that's up to him. If I was selling my house I don't have too accept the first offer no matter what.
The buyers may have done this, that or the other too - that's up to them - if they are spending a lot of money then they have a right to know exactly what they are getting and be able to do any background checks (i.e. the likely availability of land around ER, ER itself etc).

Let's just let them get on with it. And let them announce a deal or sling mud at each other if it falls through rather than coming up with bullsh*t as if it were true.
