I still want to believe that Warnock is the man to take us up, but my faith has been badly shaken recently. Listened to the game in VLR last night, and we were abject. Dour, route one football or get it to diouf and hope he does something. Neither tactic worked last night; Becchio didn't win one header against their CH who is 6'5" or so (not a pop at Becchio, he was on a beaten docket all night), Diouf saw plenty of the ball but had no options, due in the most part to our pedestrian midfield. Improved marginally when Tonge came on (must be a starter on Saturday, the lad likes to PASS the ball) but, without Paddy, we're beaten at home by a bad lot. I hope it's only a temporary blip but, currently, Warnock seems both tactically bereft and unsure what his best side is or where players best positions are. Needs sorting quickly or we're going to have to stomach a season full of last nights, if that make sense

Some of the responses in this thread leave me slightly confused, but ultimately I guess I need to laugh.

Their are a few of us who have been getting anally abused for posting the things some people are only noticing now. I haven't been getting a lot of the brunt, as I am quite conservative with my criticisms, but it seems more and more people are starting to fall in the same frame of mind.

It seems the verdict now is that Warnock is clueless, our style of football is boring and we should be doing better. Something I, among a few others have been saying for quite some time. It's not about being negative, it's mainly pointing out the obvious.

So now that a few of you are thinking the same way, it is now time to tell you that things could be looking up. I am looking at this latest run of results as a slightly good thing. Why? Well, if this is our bad run of form and we are picking up points, then surely that is better than collecting nothing at all? If this is just a bad patch and we kick into gear in the next couple of games, then that will leave us in a decent position.

With Ross coming back and a couple of others, it is looking good and if Warnock can get is act together, we can go along way I feel.

So, don't get disheartened. I know it may be easy to, however their is an awful long way to go. Warnocks style of football will always be boring, we have been saying that since the start of the season, but I do think it will be effective. It will grind us out results, as it has done all season long. Things will look up. Lets wait and see!

Becchio hasn't headed/controlled/held up/passed the ball in three games...he's handled it though a total passenger....a kick up the backside is required

dont post very often(avid reader though)i cant believe how negative people are
7th in the league,6 points off the leaders with 1/4 of the season gone,with a manager who was probable promised a decent transfer pot,but had to shop at the bargain basement,small squad with injury problems,having to throw young kids in(who imo have been outstanding) and we are 7th, after the summer we had most fans would snapped your hands off.

i read people saying we are playing poor,other teams are playing us of the park.. yep agree the likes off hull/barnsley/bolton/wendys/charlton/blackpool/forest have been more pleasing on the eye but look at the table all below us,pretting football does`nt mean 3 points,6 games unbeaten not playing well,i would take that everytime over free flowing football and losing.

trip down memory lane time.remember the 1989-90 season(now this might be just me but i see a few similarty`s this season in the manager/players/expectations)

diouf, touch of class makes the team tick = g strachan ?
byram,young fearless looks quailty = d batty
white,could be anything,but very frustrating = g speed
austin,no nonsense 100 % ,pop up with the odd great goal,cult hero = vinnie maybe
mccormack,all the talent going(not a c/f imo more a free role player)no pace = j hendrie
becchio, another 100 %er,gets battered and bruised championship is just about is level = combo of davison & baird
kisnorbo,defender who cant defend,but scares the sh*t out of forwards = the one and only n blake
varney = j pearson
gray = a williams
etc etc ...
now if this takeover ever happens and warnock is given a few a quid,so he can bring in a chapman/kamara and mel sterland would be nice.
now i went to every home game that season and i dont remember many fans chanting its just like watching brazil that season,we dug in,played to our strengths(which was`nt pretty alot of the time) and did`nt worry about who we were playing, we had a decent hard working squad with a touch of class here and there ,ended well that season
who knows with a chapman and a kamara added in jan, this season could end up the same

Yeah cos of course we were bottom of the league with no points when the messiah arrived. Amazing how many times this season we have played in these games that last year we would have lost yet 64's comparative guide shows us as having more points versus the same opposition last year. Silly facts rearing their heads again.

I spoke nothing about our relative position in the league this season or last season. I don't think Warnock is the messiah, but he's who we are stuck with for the time being. Can he get us up to the Prem, where Grayson failed? We shall see.

Hope your comparisons come true....although from 10 games in we were 3rd in the league & then spent the best part of the season in the top 2 leading the table for the last few months....note we the majority of our attendances were between 25k & 33k one statistic that's not going to occur too often unless something drastic happens !

Just for the record cos perspective is important, Colin has been here 9 months and overseen lord knows how many games. His entertainment to games ratio is probably the worst in the football league over that time. He has possibly delivered no more than 3, I can only remember 1 if truth be told, exciting performance in his time at Leeds. His teams acquire points like the homeless acquire fags, scratching around in bins and gutters picking up butts. He grinds the opposition, his own players and the crowd into submission. He is not an lufc manager, never was and never will be although he is the name on the door just now. Interesting to see some who championed him going for the jugular today. Negativity is the new positivity it seems! Coin may yet get us promoted but I can't imagine jumping up and down. By then I expect to be numb from the neck up.
