I agree 100% mate; Warnock's record in the transfer/loan market is less than stellar and, like you say, he's only here (supposedly) until season's end. If that's not short-term, what is? As we both suggested yesterday, there's a good young manager now out of work who has an excellent, if somewhat short, CV! Could cuddly Uncle Ken lure him to LS11? Now that would be a Carlsberg signing!!gessa wrote:
The thing for me is, I'm not sure these new guys are overflowing with money, so really not sure what they will spend.
Secondly, the type of player you quote, does NW go for anything different, even with some money.
My biggest gripe is with Warnock only being here until May,so there is no way as a new owner would I give him any more than I had to, just to try and steady the ship.In all honesty I would get rid of Warnock now and find a forward thinking man and give him the money that's available.

Undoubtedly!! He will no doubt be on other Prem clubs' radar now (Saints, QPR etc), so if there was any chance of us getting him (and I recognise that it's probably a massive 'if'), we really need to strike now. That would be truly exciting and a clear marker from GFH as to where they want to take the clubgessa wrote:

I'll be surprised if we get anyone in today.
Even though we have a cash injection, any player with half a marble will look at us and think - that team sucks.
Put your tin helmets on the rest of November/December is gonna be tough.

Paul Green was warnobs best signing.
If you disagree please send me a PM so we can get in to a fight.

Warnock interview this morning says hes hoping for 2 loans in.
hes made 33 enquiries and 24 have gotten back to him. Sounds like its alittle busy at the office today.

Not sure why we have this fixation on young players being better ? And also 30 years old hardly makes him past it. Let's give the guy a chance before deciding if he is going to be any good or not eh.

Looks like a busy day for Warnock then....
Just because Tate is 30 that isnt a bad thing... Good experience whilst still being mobile enough to handle the rigours of the Championship... Always better to have experienced central defenders in my book... Good business.
Thomas could be a god bit of business too... Has a tendency to be a bit lazy, but has undoubted quality, not getting a look in at WBA, likes to take a player on, and retains the ball well. Also has the ability to deliver some quality whilst having decent pace...
Cant wait to see who is next... These 2 are a step in the right direction tho...

Gurj and Swell, perhaps I'm being a bit harsh on Tate, I'd just prefer to see someone with a few more years left in the locker. I'll be happy for him to prove me wrong

Re: New signings imminent : who's coming in folks?
Good shout, he is only on loan after all... Good bit of loan business. I would hope if the transfer window were open we might be building more for the future with some younger acquisitions, this is possibly the best we're going to get the last day of the transfer window, but not a bad start IMO. Brighter outlook already...becchio bear wrote:

Loves a step over and can beat players, something we've been lacking badly in my opinion...

The BIG question.... can Colin land a good striker in the next 20 minutes????
