I went veggie about 12 years ago after having a few bad experiences with eating meat and just went off it completely. I don't know if it is coincidental, but I've been much healthier too. Not really coming from any moralistic standpoint, but not got a problem with anyone else choosing what they eat for whatever reason. That's up to them. I can't imagine myself turning back and eating meat now. It turns my stomach. I wouldn't say I would rather die than eat meat, but I'd sooner lick piss off nettles.Gino 1959 wrote: Once I started working in the pharmaceutical industry and starting learning medical stuff, I stopped eating meat - overnight!

It was just a general term - human babies (me included) human babies are pathetic, take ages to learn to walk, talk and personally I cant cope with the constant crying, mardyness, tantrums etc. I suffered severe postnatel depression after Dan was born (hence the reason I only had one child). Yes I loved and still do love him with all my being but I cant count the times I wished he would hurry up and learn to walk, talk etc and how much better things would be once he got older and was able to go to school etc.Gino 1959 wrote:is this how you saw Dan when he was born?
I think its remarkable how "Dumb" animals as us "humans
Just before Xmas, I went into the place where I used to work and someone came in with a baby, probably about a year old. They were there all cooing over it, and saying how lovely she was. Apart from me as a baby, I thought she was one of the most ugliest babies I had seen. Anyhow eventually we were sitting having something to eat at a table, and someone was holding the baby. It was perfectly happy until it set eyes on me and so I smiled at her. Yes - she burst out crying - I felt like say "awwww, how sweet, what a cutie - she has just started crying at me".
That told me exactly what I dislike children and babies at the best of times.
Animals love humans unconditionally - despite how badly we treat them.

Most plagiarists, like the drone, have neither taste to select, industry to acquire, nor skill to improve, but impudently pilfer the honey ready prepared, from the hive......

If they are, I bet they get quite sick of being just stuck in one place all the while and out in all weathers. I would be bored sick if I was a vegetable or plant.Armleywhite wrote:Are Vegetables not living breathing procreating creatures too?

Allegedly horse meat's better when mixed with cat meat – a Nag 'n' pussy sandwich is said to be one of Ellen DeGenerate’s horologist’s favourites.
I'm told it tastes like chicken!
Recommended by someone who knows Martha Stewart's proctologist.
Could I hear that again – who’s highest in the food chain?

Anyhow - I will always stick to my principles and I will not eat any animal, even if it were to save my life. Thats the way I feel and its my choice.

I have mentioned before that I had a baby son, who - when born - could well have been described as "hideous" given his appearance due to his many physical deformities.joluafc4eva wrote: It was just a general term - human babies (me included) human babies are pathetic.
I did not see him as such - and don't see him as such when I look at pictures.
I cannot believe that you see a baby as "pathetic" when every single one is a miracle that never ceases to amaze me.
How they turn out is a different matter, but the start of a new human life is a wondrous thing.

They live a life, they have off spring, they die. It's a scientific fact that they have collective "feelings" and consciousness. just because they don't move doesn't make it right and propper to cut them and eat them does it?joluafc4eva wrote: If they are, I bet they get quite sick of being just stuck in one place all the while and out in all weathers. I bet if cabbages screamed as they were cut free frm the earth there would be far less veggies about!

Re: Thank god i don't eat processed food....
I respect anyone for not eating meat for health reasons. I followed a strict macrobiotic diet years ago and no doubt I was healthier then. I learned the principals of the food chain that Meeta mentioned earlier and the only meat I ate was fish or other sea food, as they are very low on that food chain. As are vegetables, grains and fruits.
However, I did learn that there is a correct way to grow and harvest vegetables and fruit, or you destroy the nutrient values of them.
Any vegetarian who buys fruit and veg from supermarkets and most grocery stores, is letting themselves in for a LOT worse additives than a bit of horse meat.
Most vegetables and fruits are still alive after harvesting them and there are ways to chop and prepare them, so they maintain their "KI" (life energy) and nutrient values. Vegetables are as alive as any other living thing on this planet and should be respected for their value to our diets. They are lower down the food chain than even fish, but above crustaceans for example.
I won't bore you with the stuff I learned about modern farming methods with regards to grains and vegetables, but a vegetarian who buys commercial veggies and grains is deluding themselves.
Up to them - but the hypocrisy of "veggies" who say they won't eat meat cos of the "poor animals" astounds me - when the methods used to grow and harvest most crops and vegetables these days is worse than any battery chicken, or abattoir...yet they exist on TESCO bought vegetables
I gave up the macrobiotic diet, as I just wan't enjoying my food any more. After two years living with a macrobiotic dietician girlfriend, when we split up I went back to eating MEAT! I'll never forget that first rib eye steak after two years!
Orgasmic!!!
As an aside (for Gino!), my sperm count /production almost doubled, after reintroducing meat into my diet.
