Re: EHD put up for transfer !
To be honest if you look at what R Mc and EHD contributed last season (in terms of goals and assists) then the sensible option would probably be to cash in on R Mc and play EHD in that role at the top of the diamond. Can't see us getting any money for EHD due to his chequered past and likely to be on similar, perhaps even less, wages to R Mc.

Given that McCormack was at his most effective for us playing alongside a willing runner in Keough I'd say the most sensible option would be to play McCormack up front alongside Hunt and play Diouf at the top of the diamond. Then you could get shut of Varney.weasel wrote:To be honest if you look at what R Mc and EHD contributed last season (in terms of goals and assists) then the sensible option would probably be to cash in on R Mc and play EHD in that role at the top of the diamond. Likewise a good suggestion the only drawback is that out of the 3 players mentioned I can only see us getting a fee for R Mc.Dr.Leeds wrote:

I have to say theleedsmango I totally agree with your post, could have posted better myselftheleedsmango wrote:I'd reluctantly see him go. If it meant a strong player in a needed position came in.
Happy to see him go? Absolutely not.
Diouf played for us for petty wages to prove himself and earn himself a deal. He was one of only three players at the club who looked like they could be assed playing for the club last season. Was a bit of quality when we were a flat team with very little excitement.
Never happy to see a player like that leave. I understand quite a few people just didn't like the guy, but his behaviour at Leeds (bar a silly misunderstanding at Brighton) was exemplary.

I'd see Ross the most likely to leave if it came to cutting wages. Especially since transfer talk seems to have him linked with Boro and others.

I don't think it's getting a fee that's the issue here. With FFP in particular we can't afford to have dead wood on the wage bill.weasel wrote:

The only way selling McCormack makes sense is if we can fund a centre back, a winger and a replacement striker of an equal standard with that money. That simply isn't going to happen.

Re: EHD put up for transfer !
Might be worth noting that Ross Mac often got left out in the cold last season. Ineffective season due to ineffective management. Only 3 games in and we're already seeing what we know Ross is capable of under a manager who knows what he has.weasel wrote:To be honest if you look at what R Mc and EHD contributed last season (in terms of goals and assists) then the sensible option would probably be to cash in on R Mc and play EHD in that role at the top of the diamond. Hopefully although Ross is the type of player to blow hot and cold - could score in 6 games in a row then go 20 games without a goal.

Re: EHD put up for transfer !
It is a little known fact that during the off season EHD enrolled with
Bertram Mills Circus to take lessons from Coco the clown on how to
extend his repertoire of prat falls. He had perfected the Becchio Bump
but felt it was too limited in its scope for obtaining free kicks.
During the last five minutes of the Sheffield Wednesday gave he gave
a daring display of his new skills at falling over. Even his new pièce de résistance
the Klingsman swan dive, arms extended in emulation of an airplane, failed to
elicit any response from the resolute referee, even though the dive was accompanied
by a goggle-eyed look of horror and disbelief, calculated to persuade any referee that
an injustice had been perpetrated apon his body.
When contacted after the match EHD said that his attorney would be contacting
Bertram Mills Circus to demand a refund since the course had not lived up to his expectations.

EL-Hadji Diouf you may think him aloofDr.Leeds wrote:
