As do I, but as usual, the story was bastardised. Dialogue was pretty corny too - but I enjoyed the effects and camera work.
I've just seen that there is a follow up due to be released next year, 300 - Rise of an Empire. Events before, during and after the time of the classic 300 Spartans story.

Hope it's the same director regarding the cinematography - and he gets a decent plot and script writer on board!Drs.Dad wrote:

Just watched a weird film about a lesbian serial murderer, called "Monster". Absolutely superb acting by Charlize Theron, in the lead role!
The film was quite nondescript, but Theron kept me spellbound throughout.

Thought it was strange trying to get you to empathise with a serial killer, and made Christina Ricci's character too innocent (look her up on wiki, she's been in prison plenty since then). Theron got the Oscar for this I think which was probably deserved, but I was pretty bored too.Twiggster wrote:Just watched a weird film about a lesbian serial murderer, called "Monster". My favourite actor Steve McQueen died 33 years ago today . Gone way too soon . One of the all time greats . No one could compete with him on screen . Blew them all away .

O/T True Detective new tv series
New tv series starting soon on Sky Atlantic "True Detective" unfortunately i'm on virgin cable and they don't run that channel.
but fear not its on pirate bay, just watched the first 5 episodes I think its the best series since "Breaking bad"
Summary:
A 17-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana begins with Detectives Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) and Martin Hart (Woody Harrelson) joining the search in this eight-episode anthology series.
anybody else watched it yet

I've heard it's very good, I was thinking of getting it once it has finished though.
Currently getting stuck into Friday Night Lights, so don't have time for much else!
