None of this is that worrying though is it? Especially if he signs for Charlton

Re: January transfer rumours - post them in here please.
i read somewhere that Steve Bruce was allowing him to leave on a free due to this very reason as he cannot sign for anyone in the english leagues on permanently basis due to the rules, by the time he can sign for another team he will already be out of contractbarryanorak wrote:Think ther'll be a pre-contract agreement in place, but it may reduce the fee.

Phil Hay tweeting that we're close to a deal for Jimmy Kebe from Palace, as well as finalising the deal for Stewart.
Not really seen him play, though know he's fairly quick. Played for BMc at Reading too, so Brian obviously trusts him.

Surprised this hasn't happened earlier tbh, Kebe is well known to B McD and he isn't getting much game time at Palace. He's always looked decent if not that special when I've seen him, but can definitely put a good cross in and I hear he's fast too.

Seen him a couple of times - certainly he was fast (not seen him for about 2 years). If he hasn't lost that pace he could be a very useful addition. Brian always liked wingers, let's hope he is reshaping the squad in his image.
White.riot will be spitting feathers if it happens though - how often did he tell us that playing wingers was old-fashioned?

Kebe will be 30 this month. Didn't think he was that old already. Hope he is fit and ready to go, otherwise no thanks.

In the Croydon Advertiser today Palace deny that Kebbe is going anywhere and there has been no enquiry from anyone .

Any player we are approachng (or his agent), will look at the options and think: Leeds? Owned by potless chancers? Oh - one of them is fronting a supposed take over that may or may not happen? Fook off, I need financial security..faaip wrote:so of the two signing expected yesterday...we have signed zero

So Jimmy Kebe's move has been confirmed by Tony Pulis, loan until the end of the season (by which time Palace may well be a championship club again...)

This is one of the few situations I like the loan system. We need fresh blood for a promotion push, if we do manage to go up then would Kebe be a Prem starter? Probably not

Team full of loanees, we're just a team full of loanees.
Actually I think these are good loans - they are players that have the potential to really have an impact if all goes well but not committed to taking them on. Gradel was after all a loanee in the beginning…
And whilst there is such a thing (I don't actually like the January transfer window) I'd still like to see a striker of real proven quality (preferably with pace)…
Edit:
As I type apparently Ashley Barnes is on his way from Brighton. Never heard of him to be honest. Is he quick and proven?

And now we're in for Ashley Barnes, Brighton striker...
