The man that Brian is and the Fact he`s only just been here 10 mins says he has to get a couple of seasons.
We all make wrong un`s in isolation or otherwise and lets` just give the man some space and then2 years from now see what s what.
After that interview alone I was nearly in tears felt so sorry for the guy even though I wanted him out. It's disgusting that gfh have not apologised. The chairman Salah has not even released a statement. I don't like gfh very cloak and dagger. One thing when Cellino takes over though I don't think he will hide

Why should GFH have to apologise that Cellino attempted to fire him illegally?
Bates, GFH, Cellino: Same s**t, different arseholes.

Isolation. He does too many things wrong for me...again as a person I really like him, seems the real deal.
I asked because - in isolation - not many managers could be judged as successful? Depending how you measure success - is it simply trophies/promotions? Or is it someone like Dario Gradi, who is spoken of in glowing terms in spite of nothing much in the trophy cabinet or many promotions afaik?

exactly, BMC is an average manager. I like Gradi, he did what was asked of him and he did it well, If we're asking BMC to consolidate this club and keep the youth coming through, buy and sell players at a profit...then he's our man. If it's premiership football you want then I don't think he is.
only sayin'

I agree, but stability is what we need right now, prem in 1-2 years is a must but for now steady the ship and steer us in the right direction
Fair comment faaip and yes Mc D may be an average manager to a lot of people and i`d have a guess most of the said people are watching premiership teams week on week .
I believe we do have a very good man in charge compare him to who you like but don`t judge him harshly just yet.
If you want then judge him for what he is now and that`s championship fair enough. Because if and when Leeds return to top don`t think for one minute wer`e goin to turn the clock back and HEY PRESTO!, it `s a bigger jungle than when we last tasted it and BmcD can steer us along ireckon rather nicely.Lets` just understand he`s been there and explored it.

So - based on his career to date - average with no potential to be successful? Based on an average career to date?
I really disagree with opinions that McD is just an average manager. I wouldn't say he is a top manager but I think he is very good.
First of all he is a top bloke (that can't be denied) and as such commands the respect of the players with ease. They love him, that's easy to see. As a man manager therefore he is seemingly excellent.
He has developed our youth, paid attention to detail with things such as the training ground, reinvigorated previously redundant players such as Pugh and turned average players like Pearce in decent "first name on the team sheet" players.
He is honest in his assessment of games and wiling to take the blame when he has made a mistake (definitely remember him mentioning that formations didn't work after one game)
In a league that is very unpredictable and against a back drop of chaos I think he is managing LUFC exceptionally well.
