It's hardly surprising when you are making up a team that includes players from the era in which we made European semi finals. Make it the last 10 years and McCormack will feature heavily.

I don't see how a striker who has scored the second most goals in the whole of English football (in a crap team) can still be regarded as overrated?
Suarez has the benefit of being in a team playing excellently at the top of the Premier League.

Ferdinand featuring quite a bit which, to be honest, I don't get. Yes, he was very good in his first season with us but he jumped ship as soon as Neville etc turned his head at the WC in '02. Very good player in space, but was constantly exposed when faced with real quality opposition. Thought he was the new Booby Moore, wasn't even close. Moore wasn't afraid to put his body on the line, Ferdinand got out of the way as soon as he could. Not for me. Woodgate the better CH, shame about the injuries and that other unsavoury business with Bowyer

Technically a very good player. I love Radebe but he had his short comings as a player. Ferdinand would never get in my favourite XI but he would with Woodgate make up the central defence in the best XI

I thought Brown would have featured more heavily too, but I guess there are other midfielders who just edge him out.faaip wrote:wow I'm shocked at how many teams our current hero is in....
* Replace Brown with Austin to really make the statement silly
** Replace Brown with Murphy to really get a few knickers in a twist

Last 15 years
Best Team :
Martyn
Kelly
Ferdinand
Radebe
Harte
Bowyer
Batty
Dacourt
Kewell (would prefer to put Milner in place of this horrible man but his 45 goals in 181 goals says it all...Milner 5 in 48)
Viduka
Bridges
As no Champs/L1 player would get in my best eleven not even Beckford....here goes :
Championship/League One
Schmeichel
Byram
Kisnorbo
Pearce
Gray
Gradel
Delph
Howson
Lennon
Beckford
Becchio

Re: Favourite Leeds XI of last 15 years.
Sorry Genghers he wouldn't get in my Champs/L1 team as Beckford & Becchio have easily been our best striker partnership during our lean years.....it's all about players gelling together & the simple fact is that has never happened during the Ross years !Genghers wrote:

Fair enough in terms of overall impact since Champs and lower years, I suspect Becchio and Beckford would be most people's choices up front. But I was talking about in general. I feel Ross has proved his doubters wrong this season and is the difference between us being where we are and being relegated this season (imo).1964white wrote:Sorry Genghers he wouldn't get in my Champs/L1 team as Beckford & Becchio have easily been our best striker partnership during our lean years.....it's all about players gelling together & the simple fact is that has never happened during the Ross years !
I'm sure Hunt or Poleon would have stepped up with 14 goals each, given the chance!
Can't argue with your selection for Champs team, though who is Gray?
