Royston drenthe

Post by trooper20 »

Story down here ( Reading) is that Cellino is interested in Royston to go to Leeds.Any news up there on this story? Any news on BM staying at all? All gloom and doom down here after we failed to make the play-offs and the possibility of administration as a result of being £38m in debt. The supporters just can't believe the figure as we haven't ever spent any big money.

When our Russian Buyers disappeared he left us with a CF on (allegedly) £65k pw - Pogrevniak. But apart from that we have had millions from getting promoted - twice to the premiership in the last5 years. . Just shows how fortunes can change so quickly - but I know you don't need me saying that to Leeds

Twitter has been full of comments about Drenthe. How do you rate him?

Hope you don't go into admin, I have a soft spot for Reading, always enjoyed my visits there (apart from an excruciatingly dull 0-0 one cold winter's day about 4 years back)
Bates, GFH, Cellino: Same s**t, different arseholes.

I would imagine RD being paid a pretty hefty salary, can't see it happening.

Speaking as a Reading fan - he's a fantastic player, Ex Real Madrid you could get him cheaply and he will transform you next season.

This is partly, or mostly, because we can't afford him - Suggested £30k pw

In all honesty, he has been a disappointment. When you see him at first you wonder how the hell you could have signed him but there was a lot of flattering to deceive with that. He's got pace and can pull off the remarkable but for us he couldn't do it that often. Probably not helped by Adkins telling him he wants to get rid of him in January - as he wasn't an Adkins choice.

No trouble with his discipline though ( a problem at Everton) and by all accounts a model professional but didn't feel loved by our manager. I don't think he sent him a birthday card!

He will lighten up your day - occasionally but needs a manager that can get the best of him.

We had Brazilian international Roque Junior at Leeds - ex Real Madrid is nothing! :roflmao:

Waste of a pair of boots if you ask me,

Clearly there is something wrong with this guy that he finds himself down in the championship after playing for Real Madrid and Everton over the past 5 years
Forever and ever we shall follow are team, because we're Leeds United we rule supreme!
