I'm not happy about the signing, but tbh I'm not sure what we're getting with the signing...I'm not seeing the plan yet. I would be surprised if any of us are...Hockaday seems to be a bit of a Peter Taylor type..

if I wanted to make a cheap uninspiring non humerous joke ..I would have

Yes, and not successfully. (at Brighton)
Bates, GFH, Cellino: Same s**t, different arseholes.

How does this make us a laughing stock? Very good article and interview with Cellino, imo. Clearly the way things have been done in the past brings us mediocrity at best, so why not change things up. Lighten up Francis.

Oooh, cheers deary

It makes us a laughing stock because it shows that the "new Owner" of LUFC is ready and willing to compare his coaches to fruit to make a point in that he has no compunction in hiring and firing at will the very people that can do a job that can take the club to a higher level. It proves, to me at least that he has zero ambition. Were he to have some, then Hockaday wouldn't even have been considered. Still, mugs like me and those even more dedicated will continue to prop the club, take our money and continue to offer dross in the name of football.

as to your assertion that it has been done the old way for a long time, please elucidate Kevin.

I've heard managers compared to at alot worse things than fruit over the years. Hiring and firing at will is the state of modern football, why is Cellino any different or somehow considered worse for expressing what we all know to be true? Guess we'll see in a few months whether or not Cellino has zero ambition or not. Source of "Lighten up Francis" quote....

Cellino has had 30 odd managers in 20 odd years!! Is that normal? I'd say not and is it really the way you'd like to see LUFC being run? I know I wouldn't. However, for him to publicly offer a, practically total zero amount of trust in his new signing is staggering.

As to "being done for ages" Is actually wrong to attributed to LUFC isn't it? It is blatant that what has happened at ER over the last ten years or so is absolutely not what is considered normal. Surely.

As to your film quote. apologies, I've never seen the film so I assumed sarcasm was the order.

The managerial history of Cagliari, with and without Cellino. Methinks there was a revolving door at that club installed long before Cellino came to it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cagliari_C ... al_history

And without looking, maybe that is the way Italian football is run, rightly or wrongly? Is it wrong for LUFC? Time will tell.
