I know it's not possible, but I'd like Cellino to buy the Costa Rica 11 & put them in Leeds shirts!!!It would make a very cheap & good team by the look of things!!!!

Maybe, but I think they'd be in for a shock the first non-warm/sunny day in Leeds.

From the rumours we appear to be concentrating on Italy, in contradiction to what Cellino said

Well, the only Italian I think worth signing from the national team would be PIRLO,but he's getting on a bit now.I suppose he'd be ok for a season or 2.

David Hockaday might as well be David Hockney.
You had General Patton at the battle of the bulge
You had Monty at El Alamein.

If you are going into battle you need a leader that inspires confidence
Just imagine the dirty dozen are assembled and and instead of Lee Marvin
stepping in to inspire and lead the group you get a vacillating confused
Woody Allen.

That is how I feel about the appointment of Hockaday, and I wonder what
is the real sentiment of the players towards this unknown coach who has
just stepped out of the shadows and does not have any record of success.

Packed lunches, washing your own kit, signing unknowns from the lower
divisions with no experience, shutting down Thorpe Arch, all point to a
frugal lack of aspirations... no wonder Ross wants to leave.

He has a good record of sucess as a Coach, he was first team coach when watford beat us in the play off final to reach the premier league

we havent signed anyone yet? The packed lunches, washing your own kit is a hole lot of nonsense when the team is back from Italy it will be business as usual

Closing thorp arch makes good financial sense, my MD would do the exact same thing if a large facility we were using was unoccupied for a couple of months.

I just get the feeling it is cut cut cut instead of spend spend spend.
Now it is true all of our troubles started with the spend spend attitude
when Ridsdale wanted to live the dream... but Hockaday in his
interview said they would be cut cut cutting down to the bare bones.

I can't see us winning much with a bunch of skeletons.

There has to be some sort of balance some sort of investment
and not in infrastructure like Bates and his corporate boxes
but in a team that can challenge for promotion

If I was a player and saw all the deadwood being shifted out of the club
and nobody being brought in I would be wondering when is it going to be my turn
to get the chop. To create an apprehensive atmosphere is not good for team
moral and does not breed for success.

Hockaday is not Woody Allen, who was brilliantly funny.

Hockaday is David Brent.

Look at his interviews - every single sentence is a concoction of tired old cliche and management gobbledygook. He is an embarrassment, and I hope Cellino has the sense to not let him give press conferences and post-game interviews.

All right Joe Pasquali then... no Alf "bleeding" Garnett...
OK my final offer a duo of coaches Charlie Drake and Norman wisdom.

The imagery I was looking for was one of comical disbelief.

hasn't signed any players yet because there's a transfer embargo isn't there and we can't get any players until this is lifted :duno:

Exactly, its pointless getting worked up about the squad at present due to the fact that we are waiting on the FL to lift the ban.

That being said im glad hes clearing out the deadwood, It frees up the wage bill to sign players when the embargo is lifted.
