Current Squad Discussion.....
Thought i'd start this thread & as the players activity in & out we can update/discuss the probable first eleven come the start of the new season.
Right now it is somewhat difficult to name a team as we don't know who looks good in training or the true quality of the new signings but we can have a go & change our preferred teams as the squad developes !
Current Squad
Goalkeepers
Kenny Cairns Grimes Silvestri Taylor
Defenders
Berardi Lees Pearce White Warnock Wootton Byram Taylor Killock
Midfielders
Murphy Austin Tonge Norris Thompson Dawson Mowatt Bianchi
Forwards
Morison Hunt Smith Poleon Walters Doukara

GK: ?
Def: Byram Pearce ? ?
Mid: Murphy ? ? ?
Att: Smith ?
Don't know much about the new guys to say whether they are better than what we have. Also not going to get too hyped over Hunt and Morrison's goal records over the friendly games just yet.
Any of the new guys play out wide? With Murphy, Mowatt, Tonge, Bianchi, Austin, Norris and Dawson I think we've got centre mids covered. And from what Cellino has been saying, it's unlikely any of that lot will be going. Think we need to focus on those positions we have been lacking for the past few seasons. A fan-pleasing bid for Gradel?

I think Doukara is a wide player more so than a up-front striker, from what I've read at least.theleedsmango wrote: Any of the new guys play out wide? Re: Current Squad Discussion.....
By the looks of how the hock has set up over the pre season friendlys the emphasis has been on 442 + 433 formation, i also read an article where it was stated he liked Murphy / Dawson playing in the hole behind the strikers i believe we are likely to see one or 2 more people brought in I hope to god one of them is Kieran Agard
What i think it will shape up like
---------------Silvestri
Byram - Wootton - Pearce - Warnock--
---------------Bianchi----------------------
Doukara -------------------- Mowatt------
---------------Murphy----------------------
----------Smith-----Morrison-------------
What future signings id like to see in the team
---------------Silvestri
Byram - New CB - Pearce - Warnock-----
---------------Bianchi-----------------------
Agard -------------------- Doukara------
---------------Murphy----------------------
----------Smith-----Petagna----------------

Re: Current Squad Discussion.....
not a scooby, while many were highly rated I basically know nothing about our new signings.
However as we are apparently trying to bring in more defenders I expect to see White and Warnock gone before to long.

Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

I know we put a lot of faith in you tube videos so I scoured the net for positives reports of our new signing...he looks the part and he seems adaptable ...here he is playing on the left and using his left foot well to set up Prete

Cook sounds a very good prospect
I was speaking to a friend of mine a Leeds fan who runs a very successful store in Driffield, one of his clients the former Hull City captain Ian Ashbee reckons we have another star in the making in Lewis Coyle, he was raving about him apparently, said he is a Hull lad & the Codheads were disappointed missing out on young Coyle

Re: Current Squad Discussion.....Berardi Added To The Squad
Just thought we had better revive this thread now that Hockaday has revealed what he regards as his strongest team.
Essentially the one that failed last season but without the division's top scorer and with Morrison playing left wing.
Silvestri looks to be an improvement on Kenny/Butland, and Cook for Mowatt is the only other change, too early to pass judgement on which of those two will develop first.
Those relegation odds look generous at 7/2
