Looking forward to next year with the most hope and expectation for many a year. I just hope Cellino keeps our talented youngsters and brings in some more real quality, for a promotion push.
When the ball hits the goal, it's not Shearer or Cole, it's ...... Antenucci.

Their goal was to maintain champions league football in their transition year. They failed. They've threw a lot of money in this year, something you would be completely against and hence nothing like how we are currently being run, and are scraping by despite having some of the best attacking players in Europe (RVP, Rooney, Falcao, Mata, Di Maria) mainly because the other clubs have struggled. They've still to face a lot of the top teams in the final stages of the season, and really need Champions League to consider this season a success.

So what have we got in common with that. Well, we both made the wrong appointment (although one team was following the most successful british manager in the last 20 years retiring, the other was following McDermott being fired), and then got another manager in. That's about it. But once again faaip, point well made.

 Certainly heading in the right direction if we can keep the likes of Mowatt, Byram, Cook and Taylor! Some key decisions in the summer and we'll have a good attempt at promotion! If we can close the season out strong, we'll certainly have better odds (or worse, if a gambler like me) for us to get a playoff place. Will be an interesting dynamic to be considered a young, disciplined team who are favourites for playoffs, and to see how that affects our players. Let's hope Redders keeps the form up!

Think this perfectly sums up both sides of the argument.

people moaning that Cellino hasn't bought back the ground, Is this all that people want him to do??
I know he said he would buy the ground but if he did buy the ground and he used a mortgage to buy it they would of moaned that Cellino has now saddled us with more debt but if he had used the money from the sale of RMc they would of moaned that the money should of gone on strengthening the team because we wasn't playing well but now the team is starting to get some good results these moaners need to blame Cellino for something because they just don't like the guy. when the team was playing poor they blamed Cellino and when he picked coaches that didn't work out they blamed Cellino. on and on and on :roflmao:

We have now gone 1 point above last season's points tally after 37 games.

This is a clear vindication of everything Cellino has done and anyone saying differently is clearly a fool.

Always had faith in this current squad improving as the season progressed, we were simply awful & got lucky in 2013/14

I don't think a single point over 37 games, compared against a poor season, is really enough to justify the first half of this statement.

I don't think the second half of the statement is helpful, nor valid. I understood the position of moderator carried a responsibility to facilitate the harmonious running of the forum- not to make deliberately antagonistic and unnecessary jibes at other posters. Apparently these days I am wrong. If you think having an absentee owner, GFH as minority shareholders, & more take over rumours isn't cause for concern and discussion, then so be it- but there is no reason to insult other poster or fans.

The fact is is factually true (we have 1 more point than after 37 games last season) is not really enough to justify the statement??? This thread is all about the comparison between this season and last and all I am doing is stating accurately and factually that we are now one point better off than after the same amount of matches last season - I don't see the point you are making as I am not trying to justify anything, make any point or argument - I am just stating the updated situation as I have done many times in this thread.

By the set rules you have identified yourself as a fool. Only kidding and really Andy you are just trying to start an argument because it is clear for everyone to see that it was just a joke. Sorry if I forgot to put a wink smily after it. However it is good that we seem to be in with a chance of doing better than the previous season for the first time in a few years.

OK, I will accept that it was meant as a joke, and take it as such. I didn't read it that way.

We now move 4 points ahead of the 2013-2014 team after 38 matches. In 2013-2014 our 38th match saw us lose for the 5th time in 6 matches as we were beaten 2-1 at home by Doncaster, McCormack scoring for us and Billy Sharp scoring 1 of Doncaster's.

To show how much things have changed at the club only 4 of the 18 players (11 starters, 7 subs) in the Leeds squad that night featured in tonight's squad - Byram, Mowatt, Wootton and Murphy.
