Re: new contracts
Evans talking bs shock!
Seriously though it would be disappointing if the club aren't negotiating or even setting a date for talks to commence - i.e. telling the agents that discussions would begin at the end of the season.
It does appear that there is a £5m release clause in Cook's contract (if we fail to get promoted this season). I'm guessing the club was in some ways held to ransom by Cook's agent last summer (when Cook signed a 1 year exension) who no doubt was (and still will be) trying to engineer a move to the premiership so he can get his big cut of the transfer fee.

Re: new contracts
i dont know what to believe anymore one day YEP are reporting one side and the next day another side.
I would be dumb founded if that 5m release clause is true as in Janurary we all knew promotion was impossible so why would be reject 10m when we know all too well cook would leave for half the price in the summer

The club ( I know, they would, wouldnt they ) have come out and issued a strong statement today categorically denying that there is such a release clause in the contract.weasel wrote: It does appear that there is a £5m release clause in Cook's contract (if we fail to get promoted this season). The club accepted the £10M bid from Bournemouth, but Cook turned it down.hibbi86 wrote:I would be dumb founded if that 5m release clause is true as in Janurary we all knew promotion was impossible so why would be reject 10m when we know all too well cook would leave for half the price in the summer

Re: new contracts
In this morning Presser, Evans has (without actually saying it) inferred he lied when saying the clubs representatives were talking to the likes of Cook, Mowatt and Charlie Taylor's agents (about contract extensions) to avoid another Sam Byram situation.
He now says " Maybe, I would have liked it to be true " !

Worse than Risdale for wanting to self promote.
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.
