Until we get in the prem there is no point getting too attached to anyone wearing the white shirt as no matter what any delusional fan thinks there is no way we can get them to sign once they attract the interest of the premiership clubs. People are deluding themselves when they criticise Cellino for not getting them to sign longer contracts as the players (and their agents) have all the power. It is all very well to say get them to sign long contracts before they become 'great' players but if we were to do that we'd have 50 youngsters that didn't make the grade all signed up to huge contracts.

That is a bit unfair. Cellino actually dives in the transfer market fairly early, based on last year. I'm sure he realizes it's better to get business done early, than late. Deals take time, especially when players and potential coaches/managers might be on holiday.

Unsure why some people and Sol Bamba think that when the season finishes, we must sign a new coach/manager, and a bunch of new players the very next day. The instant gratification curse strikes again. Now if we get to August and everything is status quo, then I'd sound the alarm bells and whistles.

Indeed he did Dan, unfortunately his choice of manager & Rosler signings turned out to be distinctly average.

Wouldn't worry me if Evans remained at ER as i feel we require stability, we need to bring in the right players if we are to make a push for the play-offs next season, unconvinced that will be the case though !

Rosler got ONLY 12 matches, that is a real shame. Not sure you can call him much of anything, except not given a proper chance.

My main issue with Rossler was playing for draws then having no plan B if the opposition scored.

Celino has shown that he will get decent value for anyone that leaves, just need to wait and see if the cash is reinvested in the playing staff.

Up until that Telegraph interview when Cellino said he couldn't work with English/British managers, I'd have agreed with you wholeheartedly. But, if it's a choice between the tactically limited, BS artist that is Evans, or a foreign coach without a clue about the Championship, I'd take the Steve Evans show. That said, now that Flores is going to be available.......??

The only thing I would say to that is, it is only fair if Evans isn't going to be here next season to let him know, He will need to be looking for his next employer asap if it is the case that he's going.

Evans is under contract till the end of June, I believe. I would guess to terminate him now might result in extra money owed to Evans. Unless Evans leaves on his own accord. I'm sure several employers have contacted him in regards to pissible future positions. I don't think Evans is the victim here, though some people sure do like to portray him as one.
